Here is the skinny on this quaint Bed and Breakfast. I want to stress the STAFF IS WONDERFUL.
The other nice part of this hotel is the fact that this location is just top notch! You can literally walk (easily) to everything in Florence. The staff is just wonderful and truly better than any Four Seasons or Peninsula. Rosana the manager and the male staff are such sweet and caring people that I want to list this property as "Excellent" but as you read on there are reasons it would be misleading to other guests if I did that. The Interior decor and furnishings are really top notch. Florence is not a cheap city so for a week here it was something like 3,000 dollars. We initially felt that was fair but after several sleepless nights not so much. The worst part is the fact that we were not able to sleep 3 out of the 7 nights we stayed here BUT this is not the staff's fault. There was an out of control family across the hall that slammed the doors over and over again waking us at 5:15AM one morning and the slamming went on until 9:30AM. The other problem is that from around 7PM to 8AM there is no staff here so if someone is loud there is no one to help you out until the next morning. Rosanna was aware and spoke with the family and it turned out they had children who were poorly managed by the parents. Bummer and left us totally tired. Rosanna was really excellent and moved us to a different floor but the problem with that was the person above us had parties all night long 3 of the nights...literally salsa dancing in high heels and thumping and screaming. This is not in anyway the fault of the Be One or the staff. Be aware and warned that the Bed and Breakfast is located in a beautiful brownstone type building... there are 5 floors and on each floor maybe 20 offices and several other Bed and Breakfast BedRooms owned by another company totally separate from Be One. Be One operates 7 or 8 rooms on floors 3 and 4. It was all just very unfortunate for the guest, the staff an the Bed and Breakfast. I do not think this place will last if the noise problem keeps up. Also each evening the 14 steps to enter the 1st floor where you can get the elevator was littered with about 20 plus drunk and smoking teens with open alcohol bottles. For the price we really would have been better off staying at the St Regis or Hotel Lungarno. I also want to mention we are not at all light sleepers as we live on a main road in a bustling city.
