We were recently at this comfy little home away from home. We were impressed by its excellent locality, friendly staff (who have the best restaurant recommendations!) and the clean .cosy ambience. Don't be fooled by the simple exterior, this understated little gem was a place we couldn't wait to get back to after a long tiring day of museum tours, outlet shopping or just feasting on the fascinating culinary delights of the city. Definitely good value for money and worth a revisit! We can't wait to be back

When we booked (Dec. 2004) we had not read any other review and so it was reassuring to find the Relais Il Campanile comfortable, clean and central. It is located near enough all the must see sights yet remains relatively quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful to non-Italian speaking guests. We would certainly stay here again.

Just spent five nights here. It is excellent. 50 metres from the Duomo and no major attraction is more than 10 minutes walk away (also plenty of good value restaurants). Room with private shower and toilet was 93 Euros a night for a kingsize double in April (booked on the internet) and we could see the Dome from our bedroom window (by leaning out a little!). Owner is very polite and helpful. Breakfast is brought to your room when you ring down for it - basic but good enough to get you started promptly. Don't be put off to find Reception is up a fairly uninviting staircase behind a private front door. This is very common in Florence where most B&Bs seem to be above shops. Book here for good value, clean rooms and helpful service. (Station is an easy 10 - 15 minute walk if you want to avoid a taxi).

A Perfect Location !! My Fiancee and I stayed here in May 2004 for 3 nights and we loved it. It is a VERY short walk to both the Duomo and the Galleria del Accademia. It is also within easy walking distance to hte Uffizi gallery, Piazza del Signoria, the Straw market, and the Market near the train station. From the train station it is about an 8 block walk through a safe area. The entire city of Florence is very beautiful and the hotel area is very safe. We were never tenative around our hotel even very late at night and the hotel is in such a great spot that it is very easy to stop by in the middle of the day to drop off all the goods bought at the markets. The hotel was very clean and quiet. The rooms were big by European standards and the bathroom was typical for Europe (small) but very clean. Florence is fantastic ( not to mention pedestrian friendly) and we will always return to the Relais Il Campanile.
