“Easy Italian Entry”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

We arrived, exhausted from the flight and train ride from Rome. Chiara (one of the owners) was there to greet us (in excellent English) and Simone brought our luggage up the stone staircase to our first floor room.
They recommended a nearby restaurant, Sasso di Dante, for lunch and the buffalo mozzarella was perhaps the best food we ate in Italy!
No problem for them that we eat early breakfasts! - They gave us the food the night before (in our tiny frig) and an electric water heater. We checked our email with our laptop (in their adjoining office) at 6AM and then headed out.
Half a block from the Duomo - How can you ask for more?!

Room Tip: Ask for the lowest floor if you need it. We did.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

We stayed here for two nights in November 2012 and found two things about it that make it outstanding. The wonderful welcome of the couple who own it and the proximity to the heart of Florence.

We were helped by email long before we arrived in Florence - museum reservations were booked for us and we were given lots of advice about how to get around and what to see. And when we arrived the welcome was even warmer. The hotel itself is small and comfortable. Bedrooms are quite roomy enough for short stays and the beds are big and comfortable. And when we stayed it was very quiet, apart from the Church bells - but they are part of the reason for going to Florence.

The hotel itself is in a quiet side street about two minutes from the Duomo so is wonderfully situated right in the heart of the old town and within a few minutes walking distance of the main attractions of Florence.

Highly recommended for those on a budget.

A great location, with a view of the duomo from the window. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was really clean and and lovely space which to return to at the end of a busy days sightseeing. Would definetly stay again!

Great little hotel in superb location (actual view of the duomo out our window). Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff that really made us feel welcome and well decorated (albeit small) room. Would thoroughly recommend.

Relais was the perfect place to stay in busy, hot Florence. They accommodated our late arrival seamlessly. You can imagine our relief when we opened our door to a blast of cool, air-conditioning. The location is ideal for you are a matter of blocks away from spots like Academia, the Marker, and you have a partial view of the Duomo. The bottle of wine at the end of our stay was also a nice touch.

Worst ever bed & breakfast experience
Horrible toilet room in the corridor, could not sleep, and very expensive for what it is...not polite people on the front desk... run away!! They did not follow the cancellation police, so as said before, worst ever bed & breakfast experience...

We weren't expecting much, but we were delightfully surprised by this hotel! The hosts were friendly, the room was surprisingly spacious, and the location was excellent! Just a block to the Duomo and convenient to the Mercato Centrale, but the street it's on is quiet. Thanks for a great stay in Florence!
