“nice room (center Florence)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

Nice rooms in the center of Florence. Very cool and quiet atmosphere. 10 min walk from the trainstation of Florence. very good to explore Florence, due to it's central location. No breakfast service. Hard Rock café next door.

Fantastic base for exploring Florence. So easy to find as it is above the Hard Rock Cafe. A 10 minute amble over cobbled streets towing our luggage. No need for a taxi. We arrived out of normal reception hours, but Stefano was there to meet us as we had warned him of our arrival time. The room was slightly smaller than we'd thought, but was well presented, just like the photos. We could just about see Giotto's Tower from the window, as well as lots of terracotta roofs and church towers. Shame about the faded plastic plants in the window boxes though! The closed windows shut most sound out. On the first morning of our stay, we were woken early by someone above us walking around and moving furniture, but fortunately that did not recur. Each day of our 6 day stay, the room was pristine on our return from sightseeing, but the cleaners never disturbed us even on our later starts! The bed was firm and comfortable and the bathroom was very swish. The hairdrier pipe was broken, but I didn't need to use it anyway. The air conditioning was welcome in the heat and there was a useful fridge. The lift to the fourth floor was welcome after each days sight seeing. Most mornings we went to Pawlowskis Patisserie across the road for delicious almond croissants and coffee - really cheap too if you don't use the tables/waiters outside!
We loved this accommodation and would definitely stay again if we return to Florence.

Located in the most prosperous regions in the hard rock cafe next, it is easy to find. Well-equipped rooms and elegantly furnished, really value for money. Near many attractions, restaurants and shopping. That's really convenient.

Room Tip: The Suite with city view should be the larger room in this B&B.

I book this hotel because of the location, with wood floor and a nice size room. Stefano send me an email prior to our arrival and he was there like he said at the time we told him we would be there. Ask him where to go eat the famous steack Florentin, he gave me 2 places, we choosed one and we enjoyed it. Breakfast at Hard Rock cafe downstairs and we did received a good service with a nice waitress.

Quality B&B with good design, clean room, good service, convenient location and reasonable pricing once compare surrounding area. Easy for connection with train to other city in Italy as just 5 mins walking or EUR 6 by taxi from B&B. Food and coffee shop are opposite with different kind of selection. Shopping are surrounding as well.

I enjoyed this place very much. First of all - its location is really great, just on Republic Square. You walk a hundred of meters and face St Maria del Fiore or the Sguare of Signiorii with the original Bellini or Ufizzi or a huge amount of cafes and shops. The second - it is clean, well cleaned every day. Then I liked the bathroom - modern with all necessary things and beautifully designed. The bed was comfortable and inviting. The TV set was with a rather big screen. There was everything for making tea or coffee in the room. And what was very important for me - free wi-fi with good connection and speed. It is not a hotel with the reception and guards and swimming pool - it is a flat (guest house) on the forth floor of a huge building with very high seilings, with six rooms and a hall with leather sofa and armchairs. You will get three keys - for the entrance door, the flat and your room and be free. We were asked to pay all the sum on the first day - but in this case it is understandable. The taxi stop is just near the entrance but you can also walk to the railway station with the suitcase - it took us about ten minutes. Stefan and his friend who made the cleaning were very hospitable. And the restaurant recommended by Stefan happened to be very good - with home-made pasta and native atmosphere.

The rooms are newly renovated and facilities are very good, spacious too for Italian standards. However, since it's not actually a hotel, you can't really find anyone working most of the time. And breakfast is only served after 8:30 which is useless if you need to start your day early. Given it's Florence most people would want to do day trips to Tuscany or along the coast so the free breakfast doesn't really count, couldn't utilize it for the 4 days I was there...
Otherwise location is good, walkable from the train station.
