“Perfect Location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013

My wife and 11 year old son and I had a short two-night stay at this lovely hotel. I had selected the hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews and was pleased that I did. The hotel is new and modern. We stayed in a two room suite that was very large and well appointed, from the two bathrooms to the heated floors and comfortable beds.

But perhaps the best part about this hotel is the location! Step out of your room and you are in the heart of the romantic, cobblestone streets of Florence, two blocks from the Basilica of St Mary of The Flower (quite impressive) and a five minute stroll to the Galleria Dell'Accademia, home to the Statue of David, the Uffizi Galleria and the Mercato Centrale (a must stop for a quick bite to eat and some great shopping).

Besides the great art you will find an abundance of cafés and quaint shops lining the streets and piazzas.

Hotel staff is wonderful and friendly. The aperitivo is excellent with fresh made pastas and desserts.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel with a warm, welcoming staff. The rooms were one of the nicest we have ever stayed in and by far the nicest in our travels in Europe. I loved the breakfast choices even though Europe breakfasts are different from the ones in the States. The location was close to sightseeing and shopping. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms were incredible. I would have no trouble recommending this hotel to anyone travelling to Florence and it would be our first choice when we come back. Good Job Number Nine - you totally understand customer service.

This is a truly great hotel - a stone throw away from Il Duomo, the hotel is ideally located. We have stayed in one of the suites (#150) with 2 bathrooms, 1 bedroom with 2 big beds and a living area - we were 3 in the room and had lots of personal spaces. I especially liked the contemporary modern interor design of the rooms, Firenze is history all around and it's good to return to a room where you will be reminded that we are in the 21st century afetr all :) I would especially like to thank the staff - Yanni, Simone, Chiara - for all their help in directing us to the right restaurants and continuous help .. they so far are the mist helpful hotel staff I have come across with. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to spend some time in beautiful Firenze - do not hesitate to book, the place is well worth the money.

Room Tip: Room #150 is great to accommodate a family with 1 kid or 3/4 people. The lights are too complex to...

My wife and I stayed a week in September. We made reservations at least six months before the trip, partially based on the Trip Advisor recommendations. The hotel upgraded us from a standard room to a Junior Suite. We constantly asked questions, recommendations, reservations, taxis, guides, and late checkout. All of the staff was polite and very helpful. The breakfast buffet was great. The location just two to three blocks from the Duoma could not of been better. The room, especially the Junior Suite, was quite nice for a one week stay.

Of the three hotels we stayed in Italy during our honeymoon this was by far the best based on location, rooms and above all service! Note that we also stayed in a five star in Naples and Number Nine even though technically four star was still better.

They upgraded us to a junior suite as a gift for our honey moon and they even had a custom made congratulations chocolate bar in the room! The first minibar contents are free (big plus) and the rooms and common areas are a great combo of modern and classic (maybe not to everyone's taste but we loved them!).

On our final day my wife came down with an ear infection and we had to get a doctor which the hotel arranged in less than 20 mins. When the doctor said we had to stay for another 4 days as my wife couldn't fly with a blocked ear, Simone at reception did his best to give us a good room rate even though Halloween was coming up and he managed to get us good room rate and let us keep the suite for the rate of a standard room.

The happy hour bar as well as the celebratory Halloween buffet were great, breakfast was a charm (especially the fresh cheesecake and yogurt cake every day!).

The hotel is located in a quiet street not 100 from the Duomo so you get a central location with minimum noise (no real view from our suite but that's ok in the overall scheme of things).

The staff is kind, friendly and always there to please. Free wifi throughout the hotel, free printing (tickets, boarding passes and the like) in the lobby and even a complimentary phone charging station for all major phones in the lobby.

We're definitely coming back to Florence which is now my favourite city (and I've visited more than 140 cities in more than 50 countries) and we'll be staying at the Number Nine (which is now one of my top 3-4 hotels of over 100 I've stayed in in the past 15 years or so.

Too bad we didn't try the spa but Florence has so many things to do and we we're beat every day by the time we got back to the hotel.

Congrats guys and thanks for a wonderful honeymoon!

Outstanding location one minute walk to fabled Duomo and Galleria in this masterpiece of a city, the cradle of the Renaissance. The hotel resides behind a non-descript entrance easy to miss and opened in 2012 by integrating several adjacent buildings with an existing hotel. The entire property had a gut rehab resulting in many customer friendly upgrades, as well as several inexplicable omissions. Let's start with the good and the gracious. The mostly somber colors in the public spaces may appear too trendy, even eccentric to some and never quite succeed. Guest rooms are large and well appointed with parquet flooring, excellent lighting and full HD 46 inch interactive TV with a wide variety of offerings including radio, but with no instructions in any languague for its rather complicated use and no IPod dock. The air-conditioning is among the best encountered in a country that gets very hot in the south during the summer. The free minibar on arrival is another considerate expression, but then the plastic glasses in the bath seem more reminiscent of a highway motel than a deluxe hotel. At least they are replaced daily, but what is management attempting to achieve with such an obvious lapse? No concierge, so the sometimes stressed front desk does double duty, although they do strive to please, especially when water flooded the lobby after a thunderstorm. Breakfast is inviting and complete in its offerings, and usually included in the room rate. A snafu resulted in an email from the hotel the day before arrival stating that the reservation that had been confirmed by an on-line site a month earlier was being cancelled for non-payment. This was cleared-up but another oddity was a complete lack of any circulating air in the ground floor public spaces for the entire three night stay. At the same time guest rooms were perfectly air-conditioned and no explanation was given for the stuffy atmosphere. The nightly happy hour is another thoughtful addition that features complimentary snacks with paid drinks. But its up and down for a hotel that has yet to smooth the kinks even with a year or more of operation, and oddities and eccentricities suggesting that management has a ways to go before a trouble-free operation.

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms have no view but are very quiet.
