We picked Davanzati based on prior reviews that said how friendly the staff was. This reputation is well deserved. Fabrizio and his family made us feel like we were visiting their home during our 3-day stay. They helped with museum reservations, restaurant recommendations, etc. We loved the happy hour, free internet connection and location though some may find the location a bit noisy. Don't forget to visit Palazzo Davanzati next door if you stay here.

We spent five days in Florence at the end of October with my wife enjoying the sun and the incredible sights, which were all handily very close to hotel Davanzati. Admittedly, the Florence city centre is quite compact, but still the hotel managed to be in perfect location. The room on the second floor was spotless, roomy and reasonably quiet, the breakfast better than we expected after our trip to Rome five years ago and the nightly happy hour (complementary chianti, prosecco and nibble) a true treat! Fabrizio, Tommaso and everybody else from the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We will definitely return to hote Davanzati if and when we come back to Florence!

Stayed here for 3 nights. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was good. It's a little expensive, but everything in Italy is expensive. I would definitely stay here again.

My Sicilian grandmother always said the Italian people were warm and friendly. No need to look any further..Hotel Davanzati was exactly that. This family run hotel was clean, central to the museums and the family was extremely friendly. Fabrizio and Tomaso were very helpful in securing reservations for dinner, tours or museums (reservations a must at all museums). We will return to Florence and Hotel Davanzati.
