“Large parking lot, free WI-FI and freindly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2014

We went on our honeymoon to Florence only for 2 days. It was advised not to drive to the city center so we picked this hotel that is close to A1 highway and the airport with a big free parking lot. We left the car at the parking lot and took the buses to the city center (2 euro). The hotel staff was really friendly, gave us a map and marked the hotel location, bus stops and all the attractions to see. The reception works 24/7 and sells bus tickets. The rooms were comefortable, clean and with free WI-FI. There is nothing to do outside the hotel, it is in a residential neighborhood.

Room Tip: Free large parking lot

It is always advised not to drive to Florence city centre but taking the bus. Nevertheless, we encountered bus strike in Florence during the several days of our stay in mid Sep 2014. We waited for hours without a bus picking up passengers to city centre.

During our stay at the hotel, we had several long talks with Ziuit (her name if I am correct), the hotel receptionist. She was caring and nice. When we mentioned about the bus strike, she explained how the hotel could help to arrange taxi for us going to and returning from Florence. She was also patient in outlining how we might drive and park our car in the outskirt of the city centre instead of calling taxi or waiting for buses.

It was most impressive that she shared with us the local social and economical situation. Although we are just tourists, her sharing enlightened us regarding the people, culture, economy etc. of Florence. On the date we left, she asked where we would be going. She was so kind to share with us the respective attractive points of our new destinations. As a tourist, surely you would like to know from different aspects about the visiting country and their cities instead of just those tourist attraction points. Ziuit surely qualifies to be said the best ambassador.

Room Tip: A quiet room is always necessary for a good sleep unless air-conditioning is available that you can...

The staff at Hotel Franchi are capable, friendly and responded promptly when I made last minute reservations. Overall, the entire staff were excellent. Our requested taxi arrived promptly at 4:30 am and we were in and out with minimal fuss. The location of this hotel is superior with quick access to the airport. Our room was clean, although small. For an early airport departure, it's an excellent bargain.

I recently spent one night in the Hotel Franchise near the Florence airport. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The best part of this little place is the Hotel Manger "Roman" he is very nice and interesting. Roman will do what ever he can to make you feel comfortable. He suggested a near by restaurant that was very authentic and reasonable for dinner. The rooms are small but the bed is comfortable. Good night sleep before we departed to the USA .

I recently spent one night in the Hotel Franchi near the airport in Florence. It was convenient, comfortable, clean and quiet when the windows were closed. The room was satisfactory for two people and the bathroom was also comfortable. I would recommend it to people who arrive late in Florence and need a convenient place to stay or to people leaving early the next day.

We came to Florence for 2 nights and stayed at hotel franchi. We arrived at night and were very concerned about the area - it didn't feel safe.

The rooms are a little dated but they are very clean. One issue I had was the glass in our door/window seemed to rattle, and any time there was wind or a plane flying by the glass would vibrate.

The staff were very friendly. One girl at the front desk was extremely helpful in helping us get around florence.

If you're travelling through florence and need to stay somewhere on a budget, this might be your answer. Free parking is what attracted me. If we ever go to florence again I would probably try elsewhere.

At first, my friend and I thought the hotel was too far from everything and would make our stay difficult. But Zinit, the most helpful front desk reception staff person, assisted us with all our needs and helped us get the most out of the city of Florence. We were tired from our travels within Italy and she stored our luggage for us and helped us with advance bookings for the Uffizi and Accademia so were able to get it done that day saving us precious waiting time in lines. She oriented us to the city and gave us excellent tips and advice to make our stay more enjoyable.

My friend and I came back after a full day of activities to a comfortable room with 2 single beds, a balcony on the 5th floor and large and comfortable bathroom.

This hotel is ideal for those needing to stay closer to the airport, and it is a bit noisy especially in the morning because it's close to a main road and school. For the budget-minded like myself and my friend, this hotel worked. Hotel can sell you bus tickets good for 90 minutes at 1.20 Euros and the main town is a 15 minute-20 min bus ride depending on traffic if you take lines 29, 30, or 35 which come every 20-30 mins or so at the bus stop on the main road and ends at its final/terminal stop at the Florence main train station hub in town.

Another convenience is having a self-service laundry place around the corner for about 2-3 euros a wash when you're running low on clean clothes.

Free Breakfast from 7-9:30 offers yogurt, cereal, milk, orange or pineapple juice, coffee, croissants, bread/toast, salami, prosciutto, cheese etc. Free wifi is available in the front desk reception area and hotel guests that stay on the 1st and 2nd floor have wifi signal but those staying on floors 3, 4, and 5 have to come down to the lobby to use wifi.

Tip: Main train station and the main bus station CITA are within a block next to each other so it makes for easy access to day trips to Pisa and Siena which are 1-2 hours away and cost about 8 euros each way. Take the train to Pisa Centrale for Leaning Tower (20 mins walk) and the bus to Siena as it drops you off at city center to see all the sights. I also recommend the VIATOR Tuscany wine and cheese tasting day tour that picks you up from the train station.
