“Best Hotel in Florence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

We returned in May for a 5th stay at this lovely family run hotel in the heart of Florence. It was another successful stay! We loved the easy arrangments by email prior to arriving. This hotel is a 3 start but it reads like a 4 star. it is beautifully appointed; simple elegance in the Florentine style. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The rooms are quite large and beautiful with nice air conditioning (when needed). Although you are just steps away from the Duomo it is very quiet at night and yet so close for walking anywhere in Florence. We felt we were honored guests of this family and they worked to see our Florence stay was the best of our trip! We miss their beautiful full breakfast in the sunny dining room on the most exquisite linens, with fruit, crosisants, yoghurt, eggs, toast ,a lovely expresso and a smile each day.
For our family, we will always assosciate Florence with a perfect stay at the Hotel Benivieni and the family who makes it so special!

We stayed at Hotel Benivieni for 3 nights, SUCH a fabulous place. Location was superb, you could see the duomo from 10 steps away, but the street was quiet enough and away from the crazy tourist crowds.
The rooms were clean and quaint. Breakfast was INCREDIBLE... felt home cooked, and fresh daily.
The family was probably my favorite part. 3 generations of family working there... True italian love and feel. Mother /daughter were so into our shopping sprees, it was adorable.

We returned to Hotel Benivieni for 4 nights during our visit to Florence in May. We stayed here in May 2011, and this time it was just as nice as our first visit. Great location for everything in Florence, including great restaurants, shops, museums, train station...etc. Plus the gelato shop Grom down the street is always nice late at night after walking off a fantastic meal. The staff was very nice, and helped us book a tour of Lucca & Pisa too. Breakfast was just enough to get us started for the day. If we return to Florence someday, we'll be sure to stay at Hotel Beniveni.

This hotel is in a brilliant location - a 10-15 minute walk straight from the main train station, a 1 minute walk to the Duomo (Cathedral), a 5-10 minute walk to the Uffizi Gallery and Palazzo Vecchio and a 10-15 minutes walk to the Ponte Vecchio bridge.

The hotel is just off the main 'road' in the middle of the town centre, so it was lovely and peaceful at night but you didn't feel unsafe when you we're walking down the side street - it was well lit, easy to get too and if you got a little lost in the many beautiful Florentine streets, you just had to look up in the sky for the Duomo dome and you knew where you were!

The hotel was spotlessly clean and the room had clean sheets and towels everyday! The hotel staff (I'd rather use the words 'hotel family' as they were all so friendly) were so very helpful and welcoming and became friends towards the end of our weeks stay. The breakfast had a vast amount of choice and nothing was too much for them!

I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone and would definitely stay there again if/when I return to Florence!

September of 2011 I stayed at Hotel Benivieni. I was very impressed with the hotel, the owners, breakfast, everything. My friend and I had reserved a room with two beds, when we arrived it was a single bed...we requested if it could be split to two beds, they accomodated our request. The location of the hotel is perfect. Breakfast is very good, the cappucciono was WONDERFUL.
For the reviews who stated that the ladies were rude and not friendly. I always wonder how the ladies were treated initially that perhaps warranted what seemed to be a rude response in return. I had a wonderful experience and conversations with them...my Italian back then was very beginner, they took the time with me and were patient as I tried to speak. I can't tell you how much I appreciated that and how much it gave me more confidence to continue to try to speak the language while there.
Mille grazie e non vedo l'ora di rivedervi!

We stayed over the first May bank holiday. It's a nice hotel with friendly staff. Very close to the Duomo. There's a lovely wine bar/restaurant right next door which is worth checking out but make sure you book if you want dinner at a reasonable time. Rooms are good for a three star, clean and tidy. It is also very quiet for being in such a central location. The only negative I could say (and its a very minor negative) is that the showers are tiny - or at least it was in our room. Definitely recommend staying here.

We chose this hotel because of the positive reviews we read and were not disappointed. This was our first time in Florence and the location of Hotel Benivieni couldn't be better - quiet yet so close to everything and great restaurants all around the hotel. Just a few minutes of walking to almost all the major sights in Florence. We were able to quickly go back to our hotel for short breaks during 2 long days of sightseeing. The food quality on the breakfast buffet was good, not extensive but good. Very delicious gelato from the Grom Gelataria is just a 2 minute walk from the hotel - highly recommend it ! Front desk staff were helpful and friendly.
