“Outdated but closest to the train station as you can get”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

Lovely "classical" design hotel with complete set of amenities including slippers (Rare to find in Europe!) and suggestion cards. This hotel is right around a corner from the train station. There are tour offices near by for last minute tours. We were able to book a Sienna day trip upon arrival through Agenza Viaggi's tour office beside the SITA bus station.
The hotel receptionist wanted to charge more than double for a similar tour.
I thought the hotel was all good, seeing as how much they spent on amenities and the breakfast spread, but I woke up with bed bugs bites all over my back. This took a week or more to subside.
Upon checkout, the graveyard shift receptionist R was really confused and sleepy at 5 am and could not handle the payment change counting correctly. While we were rushing to catch a train, he kept on repeating counting for the next 5 minutes or more and could not for his mind let us go. I guess as with other establishments in Europe, they are no longer familiar with the handling of physical cash as the use of credit card is so prevalent even if one were just to buy a bottle of Coke.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

Stayed in August 2013 with family and friends. The location of the hotel was fantastic and just a 2 min walk from Firenze train station and all the sights. The rooms were comfortable (expected more, to be honest) but clean with a spacious bathroom. Most of the staff were friendly enough but the breakfast was disappointing. The range was poor and when we arrived half way through breakfast (on our last day), we found that almost everything was gone and nobody was re-filling.

Very nice hotel, traditional décor, clean. The location was excellent, close to the train station, the sights, restaurants, pharmacy, etc. The breakfast was excellent too. Most of the reception staff was friendly and nice, spoke very good English. We had a wonderful room, a good size with French doors that opened up onto a balcony.

Room Tip: ask for a balcony, over looking the breakfast patio

Everything was perfect about the hotel, the location, close to the train station, close to the city sights. The room is in great balance with the city's feel and rich history, it's a former convent, after all. We also enjoyed the spacious bathroom. The internet worked well in the room. At breakfast we had the most amazing fruit tartes and great coffee. Do not hesitate and choose this hotel.

Very nice hotel, nicely located, good infrastructure, spacious room. Breakfast could be a little bit better, also the service of staff.

We requested late check out for two rooms as our train leaves at 13;30 and we want to stay in the hotel until 1pm, the staff was not very happy about this request and finally accept to have only 1 room late check out to 1pm

This hotel was excellent. Centrally located, everything was just a short walk away. The front desk staff were extremely nice and very easy to deal with. The hotel is beautiful inside, including the rooms. The rooms were very clean. We stayed here 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. Overall, there were a few minor issues we had with our room, but nothing that impacted our stay too much. We would definitely recommend the adler cavlieri to those visiting Florence.

This hotel was formerly a convent and I reckon the nice little patio on the shade, with high trees where 7 tables with chairs stand for breakfast time, and the only noise you hear is birds singing every morning , may be a reminder of those days . At breakfast time , taste a delicious home-made pie made with almonds . It is so good that I ordered 2 to bring them home. So if you like it as much as me , feel free to get one at least when you leave.
I stayed 8 nights and Sofia ,Leonard and Mattia , the waiters who served me at breakfast , made the very beginning of the day a perfect and unstressed start for a week filled up with lots of tours and high temperatures . The decoration is English-like with panelled walls and leather sofas next to a fireplace in the sitting room , where you may sit reading daily foreign newspapers while you taste a sweet from the big bowl near the press. The rooms follow the same style . It has a nice and comfortable cocktail bar in the first floor with a cute room with a sofa and a fountain with running water and fish which makes the perfect end for a stressful day . Good Wifi for free in the whole hotel . Good air conditioning too . Rooms have a little balcony with 2 chairs . Those rooms on the ground floor are a little dark , so if possible ask for rooms in higher floors . The quality of sleep is good. The area has a lot of mini markets run by Indians and Muslims , Tuscan restaurants like Belcore with good food and good punctuation by Trip Advisor , Kebab ones . Also you may find several hotels from the chain Best Western and launderettes.
The staff , all the employees helped me a lot having a nice smile , accuracy and politeness. It is clear that the clients' happiness and confort is the hotel very first goal , and of course it is achieved by a natural and fluent relationship among all employees .
The hotel has a very convenient location as it is near the Bus and the railway station . This hotel is placed in a safe area .So in a nutshell , it is a very complete hotel and having breakfast included in the room's price , makes it pretty affordable .
If I go back to Florence , for sure I will go to the same hotel because I felt like at home .

Room Tip: Rooms in higher floors
