5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2011

Absolutely loved this hotel. The room we got was twice the size as our other hotels in Italy. Nice big and comfortable bed. Helpful staff. They had reserved a time slot for us to go see David. Great location by the train station. It was just great. Would highly recommend!

My husband, 18 year old son had a great stay at Adler Cavalieri. Our triple room was very nice with a large bathroom. Conveniently located a couple of blocks from main train station. The staff was very helpful and we enjoyed a delicious and generous breakfast buffet. Loved our stay in Firenze or Florence!

This hotel has a very good standard in all the aspects we learned about it for our seven day stay.

It is well situated for walking to all the attractions in Firenze.

The beds are pleasantly hard.

The breakfast buffet is fine, though the English breakfast didn't look too appealing, but it tasted all-right.

This is a good hotel with good service in a convenient location near the Florence SMN station (5 minutes walk). Most of the attractions are within 20-30 mins walking distance. The rooms are spacious and welcoming. The breakfast spread is very good compared to European standards. Most of the staff members are helpful (there are exceptions in every hotel).

However, please be aware that the hotel does not switch on its AC in April (even though it was very hot). For this reason we had to open the room windows and te room became noisy.

Will definitely recommend this hotel.

We were booked in to the Adler Cavalieri as we had researched various hotels in Florence for sometime and this hotel consistently came out with great reviews. On arrival with a significant amount of luggage we were greeted by the helpful door staff who took our luggage up to the room. The reception staff seemed uninterested and bored and did not strike up any conversation even although we were are both fluent Italian speakers. On arrival in the room I felt it was very dated in terms of the decor and the rooms were very small. We had a room facing the inside of the hotel so the only views from the window were right into other guests rooms - not ideal but this can't be helped. The bathroom was small also and several fittings on the walls were loose, there was also a light bulb not working inthe bedroom. The selection TV channels were mostly in Italian which didn't bother us at all. Over the next few days we were out and about a lot of the time and have to say that the hotel staff on reception really let this hotel down. The girls looked miserable and at points came across as rude and arrogant. This spoiled our stay as most of the time when we needed something we felt uncomfortable when having to speak to reception - they often forget that this is their job! On the flipside of this, the waiting staff in the restaurant were delightful and the chambermaids were very freindly and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. Sadly, we won't be returning to this hotel for 2 reasons; the reception staff and the decor is very dated and in need of a much required refurb. The plusses were the breakfast - excellent selection with fresh coffee and attentive staff. The location is also a major plus as it is within 5 minuts walk from SMN train station which was a god send for us having lots of luggage.

We were there with our 3-years old son for a few days to see & experience Florence and Tuscany -and the hotel served that purpose very well, exceeding actually our expectations (we knew it would be good but the actual location, architecture and local scenery- streets, shops, etc- were better than we thought they would be).

The room was big (for a central location) and also we appreciated a lot the presence of a nice saloon /library -where you could read a book in the quiet and classical atmosphere of the place;

Also- the location is perfect to start exploring both Florence (it is in central area, within walking distance of everything) and also other Tuscany locations (train station is 3 minutes from the hotel, also multiple rent-a-car locations are near).

Hotel staff- very friendly and competent offering directions to main attractions around and also for good places to have dinner.

So I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
