There isn't one thing that I would change in this Hotel. The service was warm, understated yet ever present. The design of the suites was beautiful, everything looked liked a well maintained private home. The staff answered "yes" to every request we had and really listened to what we were asking for. Breakfast was the usual sumptious buffet and even had freshly cooked eggs if you wanted. Apperitivo and snacks all day were included. It was our first time in Italy and they made sure it will not be the last.

Room Tip: I assume that all rooms are great. Even though our suite didn't have a view it didn't take a...

JK Place is an absolutely fabulous hotel, just like staying in a luxurious home. Unlike the typical hotel, there is no huge lobby. Instead, one walks into the entry of a large home, with several public rooms on the ground floor. The reception area is just an office off the entry corridor. Breakfast is served in what could be a dining room, in which the buffet is located. There is a large dining table, which permits family-style dining, which we enjoyed. For those guests who would like more privacy or intimacy, there is a separate room with small tables. On the ground floor, there are two separate rooms, one of which was a reading room and the other (a larger room) was a restaurant where we ate lunch and enjoyed wine in the afternoons.

Our room (No. 24) was on the top floor (4th floor) and was a two-level room. The entry level was the bedroom area, and the upper level was the spacious bathroom. The bedroom had plenty of storage space for our clothes (which was needed as we were traveling in Europe for more than 3 weeks). The bathroom was superb, brightly lit, with a double sink and lots of storage space for toiletries. There was a separate room for the toilet, bidet and shower. Notably, the shower, which could accommodate two adults at the same time, had both a “rain shower” showerhead and a hand-held shower attachment. The bathroom was an unusual bit of luxury.

The hotel staff were incredibly accommodating. Buffet breakfast was provided on the ground floor. In addition, the hotel also provided breakfast in our bedroom at no charge, an amenity which we enjoyed.

In my opinion JK does something that is extremly hard to do - it creates a luxury experience without being stuffy - in fact its relaxed style and warn friendly attentive , bright staff , made our stay extremly memerable and fun ; All in an atmosphere that is exudes sophistication - it's very chilled & relaxed.

We have 3 kids aged between 4 and 15 and it really worked for them too . If you want something really special and don't mind investing in memories , then JK is for you.

J.K. Place is one of the most elegant, comfortable and welcoming hotels I've ever stayed in. I can't say one negative word about it. Unfortunately, we learned about the rooftop lounge the morning we were leaving, but would've loved to have had a nightcap there. Florence is magnificent, only enhanced by a stay at J.K. Place.

Baeutiful hotel, on piazza Santa Maria Novella, right behind the train station. Very beautiful and chic. The bar downstairs, with its chimney, is fantastic for tea or drinks. The room are extremely comfortable, the bathrooms luxurious. Every monument or musuem is at walking distance.

The property and the service are absolutely a 5. My wife was blown away by the decor. The location is good, near the train so you can just walk (less than 5 min walk). Mini bar in the room is included, soda, water, nuts, chocolate. Daily breakfast is included and can be brought to the room for no charge. the staff is attentive and gracious. all excellent but....

a 4 for noise. rooms, 1,6,12 and i think 18 all face a square where there is a bar with a late night crowd (at least one night until 2 am). those same rooms face the area where the underground trash dumpsters are kept. those are emptied every morning at 830. add a few police sirens through the night and sleep can get quite restless.

a 4 for a wifi connection so slow it is useless (but its included)

a 4 for price (this one is the eye of the beholder kinda thing) but for me it felt a little overpriced.

this was our first visit to florence so I have no other hotel to compare. Perhaps the noise and internet issues are ubiquitous.

If I were to stay again (and I might), I would request an interior facing room and hope it was more peaceful.

Room Tip: ask for a room that does not face SMN

I have stayed in Florence several times, but far and away, our stay at JK Place was the best. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Everyone at the hotel went out of their way to meet our every need in the most friendly way possible. We traveled with our baby and so we required some additional assistance--and we received it. I can't say enough how friendly all of the staff members were...from the front desk, to the concierge, to the restaurant staff. They are genuinely kind people. We knew everyone on a first name basis. The hotel is small and intimate. When you come back at the end of the day, the staff asks how everything was and if they can assist in any way. They are proactively helpful and never make you feel like you are a burden with questions or requests. Everyone was friendly and professional. It made the experience exceptional. Beyond the service, the rooms are gorgeous and quiet. The location is great. And the food is superb. We had a wonderful breakfast every morning and our best lunch in Firenze at the hotel restaurant. My entire family agreed that we will only stay at the JK Place Firenze on our future visits to Firenze. It was truly a wonderful experience. I would like to note that unlike some hotels/restaurants, no one at JK Place asked me to write this review. I am doing this simply because I was so pleased with my experience at the hotel. Grazie molto a tutti a JK Place Firenze!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Comfort, sophistication, style and value right in the heart of Florence. J.K Place has carved out an exceptionally pleasant niche for itself, a niche that’s just seconds from the door of the stunning church of Santa Maria Novella. All the major sites are within easy walking distance. The rooms: Just twenty of them, snazzy, characterful, no two are alike, and all with signature soft furnishings in creams, granges and neutrals offset with contrasting piping in an effortlessly chic Anouska meets Ralph love-in. The glass covered courtyard and roof terrace beckon on warmer days whilst winter afternoons are best spent huddled by the fireplace in the J.K Lounge with a thick slice of cake and a steaming hot cioccolata con panna. Add very friendly, discreet service plus probably the city’s best Concierge and you are just asking for a good time! ... more   less
