“Great position in the heart of Florence.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

What a lovely place to stay in the middle of everything we wanted to see in Florence and within walking distance. Great service with a smile and nothing too much trouble for the staff, the rooftop was awesome night and day for a few cool drinks, the only suggestion I have is if the put up a bigger sign out front so as people could find them because with the help of my sat nav I drove past twice and through the piazza which upsets the local police but all good fun.

Other than Venice, this was the most expensive hotel we stayed at while in Europe ($379/night). It was worth it - the staff was great, the location super convenient, nice breakfast buffet and decent sized clean rooms. I would stay here again, if for no other reason than the staff recommended what turned out to be the best meal we had during our 2 week vacation (Giovanni's). If it were possible to give 4.5 stars I would, but bc the price is just a bit steep I rounded down to 4 stars. That said, if we ever come back to Florence we would likely stay at this hotel.

This is a difficult review because the hotel potentially could be so much better.
The location is good within a short walk of most of the main attractions. If you are using the main train station it is a very short walk. Inside it is decorated in an aesthetic but pleasing manner. The rooms are of good proportions and well decorated. The service however, is efficient but impersonal at the front desk and rather inefficient in the breakfast room. Three out of the four mornings our coffee arrived after we had finished our breakfast not during. When we arrived we were told we had been upgraded to a room with a view. This however was what i had booked, a room with a view! albeit from the second floor. Perhaps my expectations were a bit to high but in the end the hotel just fell short.

Room Tip: The square the hotel is on is a bit echoey at night therefore ask for an upper floor.

This hotel was located about a 5min walk from the train station which suited us perfectly, we weren't really expecting much but this hotel turned out to be a-maz-ing. It was stunning on the inside, our room was large and overlooked the piazza and there was always something going on out there if you wanted to sit back in your room and people watch. The breakfast was the best we have had in Europe so far (yummy scrambled eggs and bacon), and the little touches like the tea & coffee made our stay that much better.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the piazza.

Great location - able to walk from train station and easily reach top attractions in Florence. Top-notch service and facilities with an excellent breakfast. Beautiful views available of Piazza and Church Santa Maria Novella with the mountains in the background. Reasonably priced. A great value - would stay again.

We found the hotel & staff very friendly. Was rapt to find tea & coffee making facilities in our room, first time after 2 weeks of travelling-much appreciated. The lady in the bar asked if we had been to their rooftop area, it's a beautiful view over the piazza, great for a drink with dips & bikkies. Only negative is that the hotel nameplate is very small & is hidden behind a shrub.

Room Tip: We had room 101, easy to walk too rather than using the lift & also had views of the piazza.
