“Great Staff. Decent Rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2014

We had booked for two nights. The Front office staff were warm and welcoming. We upgraded for 25euro and got a larger room, free wi fi and mini bar. The breakfast was decent with good cappuccino. it is not down town or city centre but we took a cab for around 10 euros maximum to the Santa Maria station and to many of the places of interest

Room Tip: Go for the upgrade. it is worth every euro spent

This hotel was included in a tour group so not sure what the cost was or therefore the value. Small rooms in a small hotel. Limited breakfast of cereal, and the eggs were runny. The pillows were flat but other wise the room were OK.

Dear Guest,
I would like to thank you for having spent some of your time to leave your precious comment on UNA Hotel Vittoria, that will allow us to verify the quality of our services and to approach more and more to your expectations. Our hotel has a unique style: the rooms are defined by black or fuchsia walls, spaced out by fiber optics. All our 84 rooms are equipped with a 32" TV, satellite TV with Sky channels, and internet connection. The suggestive bathrooms have been manufactured with newfangled materials and colored Bisazza mosaics and are equipped with a shower or a bathtub.
Our Buffet Breakfast provides a range of cakes, most of them prepared directly by our staff, salads, organic and gluten free, cold meats, cheeses, and offers some hot food. I am deeply sorry about the problem occurred at breakfast. Customer care is a priority in UNA Hotels.
Please accept our sincere apologies because we didn’t find out how to satisfy your expectations.
Wishes to have you again our Guest, I send you my best regards.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2014

We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights here through voyage prive and got a really great deal including breakfast.

Location - this is a little way out of Florence, but easily walkable, It was perfect for us as we enjoyed walking there and back (especially after a big Italian dinner), but this would be perhaps a less advisable hotel for people who cannot / do not enjoy walking around 15 / 20 minutes to get to the main sites. On the way back there is a little gelato shop on the same road as the hotel which does amazing ice cream - and you've definitely earned it after the walk back!

Rooms - the rooms in the hotel are very 'modern' and as another reviewer said 'funky' - with lights in the ceiling (like stars) and an elevated platform for the bed. Its quite unusual and quirky but if I was staying longer I would prefer a more standard decor!

Hotel - Everyone in the hotel was helpful, breakfast is nice with plenty to choose from and there is a lot of parking available which is great (we had driven there from Rome)

Overall it was a decent hotel at a great price and we would stay again for a short break.

If the only hotel room left in Florence was at the UNA Hotel Vittoria, I would choose to sleep in the street! The whole place looks as if someone was on a bad acid trip, and decided to design and decorate a hotel for the sheer and total hell of it. The room was incredibly small for two people; the only spacious area was the large space in front of the closet; in fact, I was going to pull my mattress off of the bed and carry it over there! The only thing positive about this place was the nice gazebo outside. Avoid this place at all cost!

Hotel was very clean and well kept. No problems with staff. Kind if enjoyed the funky decor but room lacked functionality. Room was very small- glass wall did help to alleviate clostraphobic feeling. Beds were on slightly elevated platform and had to be accessed from space between them as no was to get into either bed from wall side - yes a wall on one side of each bed. Bar at foot of one bed useless- to sit in chair, need to pull it out so it almost hits wall. If you sit in this chair you either face bed or turn around and literally have large screen tv inches from your face. Very nice tv by the way! Bathroom was nice and spacious with large walk- in rainwater shower. Good size area in front if wardrobe and outside of bathroom seemed like a bit if wasted, useless space- could use that space in bed area. Also difficult to find outlet located well for electronics charging.
That being said, I found the hotel fun, clean and adequate- just could have definitely made better use if space.

This hotel is a little off the beaten track, but this was one of the things we liked most about it. San Frediano is a lovely old part of Florence and just 20 minutes' walk down charming historic streets to the main attractions. There are many benefits to not being right in the city centre. Firstly, the hotel has a sweeping driveway making drop off/collection by taxi a breeze compared to the central hotels, where we saw people struggling to unload luggage in narrow streets with impatient drivers sounding their horns to get by! Another benefit is the relative peace and quiet allowing a good night's sleep, as well as the opportunity by day to escape the crowds which are everywhere in the main tourist areas of Florence. Other than location, the hotel has a lot going for it. The staff are very helpful and attentive, the rooms are clean and modern, the bathrooms well-equipped with powerful showers, the beds delightfully comfortable, and the food in the restaurant is excellent. We ate dinner in the restaurant twice and on one of these, I enjoyed the best simple spaghetti with tomato sauce I have ever eaten. Breakfast is also excellent with plenty of options - cooked and fresh, sweet and savoury - there was even prosecco available for those who want to start early! Our only (very minor) criticisms are that the lighting system in our room was rather confusing and complicated, and in fact did not work on the first night so that we had to call for maintenance at 11pm to help us switch off our lights. Also the clothes storage was very limited so we tended to 'live out of a suitcase' instead of properly unpacking for our stay. My best advice would be to book this hotel if you are a more adventurous traveller who is willing to try the 'local' areas and not be slap-bang in the middle of the city, as you certainly get a lot more for your money with this hotel.

Room Tip: Upgrade from a Classic Room to a Superior Room, which has free minibar and wireless access. Don'...

Stayed overnight on our trip of Italy. Hotel staff was extremely helpful and assisted us with every query - ranging from bus, taxi and train departures. Only saw they offered free shuttle service to Florence SNR after we left. Room was a bit out there but offered enough space and comfort. Dinner at the restaurant had excellent pastas and breakfast had varity of food.
