Excellent hotel experience in Una vittoria hotel! the rooms even small are very fancy and nicely decorated (becareful of the shape of the bed which could hurt your feet!). The area is not far from historical center (15mn walk) and from The main railway and bus station. Breakfast was very good and sufficiently varied in a design area. If you appreciate walking around the arno choose, but avoid if you plan to be directly in the city historical center. Would definitely be back again!

I have stayed here twice, and both times were wonderful. I love downtown, but especially love this area, as its more residential with "local" flavor, great restaurants and shops nearby, and still within walking distance to downtown(over the Arno).
The breakfast is good in the mornings with lots of variety. The staff is friendly and accommodating. They even have soy milk (latte di soya)!
The rooms are so cute (with a full body painting of a renaissance man or woman on the whole font door, giving the hallway character, as if to prepare you for the cool, modern room within. The beds are comfortable and room is trendy and clean, with little details of traditional Florence, (like the window shutters).
One complaint only: the tub is very awkward to step in to! But, that never stopped me from staying there. On site parking is convenient. You must pay per day, though.

Have been meaning to write this since our trip in August 2012.
We booked this great hotel fairly last minute and enjoyed every moment of our stay.
We loved the rooms even though the workings of the bath/shower took a lot of getting used to .
All the staff were great, booking us a table at a restaurant for the Saturday night. Particular mention to the bar man and the driver of the shuttle bus.
Breakfast was great.
Yes location is a little far out but that added to the tranquility and it was only a twenty minute slow (it was scorchio)walk to the centre.
I would definately stay here again

Ok, its a bit out of the way but hey, the walk to the Ponte Vecchio is great. Plenty of shops and great artisans on the way. The rooms are clean and functional but we could not breathe because it was stiflingly hot. Did not have a clue how to turn down the heat so slept with the window open.

Check in was ok but wished the gentlemen whom helped us to our room with the luggage would spend a few minutes educating us about the various functions of the room.

The problem I have with this place as follows:

Internet is not free and a big rip off. EU25 for 24 hours. We signed on for their so called special of EU10 inclusive of the mini bar, which was a bottle of water and a bag chips. Had to go through this entire process of registering and then signing before they gave us a password only then to be told the wifi does not work. In their defence, they did solve the problem the next morning but we had to pay EU3 for a 30 minutes.

On check out we decided to pay by cash only to be told they did have change for EU500. So I said I would go to the bank across for the hotel to get the change. The bank also did not have changed so I had to come back to the hotel and see what they could do. Fortunately they called a shop around the corner whom provided them with change for EU500. When I asked them why a hotel did not keep change they simply told because of security reasons.

So if they are worried about security so much that they refuse to keep change in their kitty at night how on earth do they ensure the safety of their guests?
