“Good hotel but not sure if worth the "4 stars"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

The hotel was nice and the staff was friendly. Location was outside of the central Florence but again Florence isn't that big so not a big deal. Everything you can expect from a hotel, it was clean and was decent sized. My only complaint was that the A/C system was so complicated that I couldn't figure out how to keep it at the temperature we wanted.

Breakfast was typical european but they did have eggs and sausages. It's rated 4 stars so you end up paying more in hotel taxes. Not sure if it lives up to the 4 stars, 3 no problem.

Cannot believe some of the reviews complaining of high ceilings!!! Unbelievable.
The hotel was lovely and in a good location. We parked in the courtyard and paid €10 per night but knew the car was safe. I only paid under €100 for 2 people for 2 nights so wouldn't argue over cost of parking.
Breakfast was continental and the fruit salad was fresh and delicious. Plenty of choice with cereals, breads, cakes and fruit.
Our room was the one near the downstairs lounge and was huge and separated into 2 areas. Tall ceilings with beautiful decorations around the ceiling. Huge floor to almost ceiling windows. Tv and mini bar in the sofa area. Bedroom in the other area. The bathroom had a jacuzzi bath and 2 sinks.
Couldn't fault the hotel at all. Beautiful hotel with a history at a bargain price.

It is a very good choice for your accomondation in Florence. The hotel is far from the city center-twenty minutes on foot until the central square with the Duomo.Fortunately,it was a good and clear room with a safe and fridge-minibar.In addition, the breakfast was perfect and the price of the room much better!!!!

Location is about 15-20 minutes walk to the centre "Il Doumo", Best way to discover the streets and path to the famous Il doumo, no need to take a taxi or bus if you have time to go for a stroll.
Hotel is less than 10 minutes by taxi from the train station, we arrived in the afternoon from Rome.
We had two rooms and bought of these rooms really smelled strange, and I realized that they sprayed it so much with air freshner or whatever was just to hide the musty and like a wet or moist wall. Our room was behind the reception ( not a good choice but did not ask to change as we were just tired and wanting totake a rest). Upon entering the room, the ceiling was like 4 meters high!! I felt like I was in a church while lazing down and staring at the ceiling.Water must have seeped into that ceiling as you will see the patches of peeling paints ( which must also cause the strange smell). The WIFI DID NOT work in our room, I have to go out to have a connection, same with the room of my sister, no wifi connection, ceiling is also the same...also room in the ground floor across the reception. ( DO NOT ACCEPT THIS ROOM where we stayed, it is a waste of money).. Breakfast is ok. I just found it very amusing that a "rock song" is played at 8am in the breakfast room, thought only for that day but not, it was the same thing when we had breakfast the next day. My biggest disappointment in this hotel is that the receptionist already asked us to vacate one room and bring our baggage to my sister room the day of check out, but check out time is 11:00am and they asked us already at 8am on our way to our breakfast!!!Very, very rude and bad service for such a management!! I will not come back to this hotel again, I am not pleased with the smell but what is really maddening is to throw us out before our time of our check out !!.

We checked in here after traveling through some fiascos in France. THIS is what Europe is all about. A charming smaller hotel, clean, with great bathroom (including a crazy hair dryer that turned on by itself- lol) and FREE, yes I said FREE WIFI. The front staff was accommodating and very friendly. A great location to hop in a taxi and see David and the Uffizi Gallery.

Room Tip: Get the floor level room out back.... It has handicap access- so much mor space.

We arrived from Rome and had 3 days in Florence. The hotel is conventiently located in the middle of the city and about a 15 minute walk to all the action like the David statue and the Duomo. We opted to take a taxi and it was about 10 - 15 minutes to get there but only 5 minutes back to the train station. It will cost between 10 - 11 euros. You can also walk to the hotel from the train station in about 20 minutes, if you like. We did it only once.

The front desk customer service was great and they told us where all the attractions were and gave us a great restaurant recommendation. The room was decent but the safe deposit box was broken, which was fixed and they had to fix the TV as well because we couldn't get it to work. I would definitely come back again and I recommend this hotel.
