“Average hotel in an expensive city”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

If arriving by train, take the right exit once you alight from the platform. The hotel is about 100m away on the right. If you use the train for coming in and out of Florence, then the location is ideal.

The room - we had a triple. Basic but clean.

Bathroom - a miserable shower cubicle which is rather small. No ventilation. Had to open the window to air.

Breakfast - horrible. Basic european breakfast but poor quality of food.

When we arrived the hotel - Great perfect location!
just 30 seconds walk from the train station. it was right infront.

The hotel staff were great, helped us through everything. Free wi-fi.

We got upgraded with our room - one thing annoying, we got an upgrade, which was nice and all, but our new room was an apartment, and we had a closet with a kitchen inside.
One door was open and one was locked. We asked them to open the locked one and their comment was "You were not eligible to this room, it was an upgrade, therefor you can't use it"
My opinion is - if you upgrade someone you don't block or disallow some of the services

Other than that - location - AWESOME!
10 minutes walk to the doumo, 15 minutes walk from all kinds of musemus, city center. We bought 2 days bus pass which was a waste of 12 euro. we walked everywhere.

Another downside - we had a bad sleep because the hotel is ON the street, our room was right infront trrafic.
my friend is very sensitive to noise, so she did not sleep at all!
I had a pretty rough sleep.
Maybe if you stay in the inner rooms of the hotel it would be better.

I don't know to say if i would go there again, just noise wise. Other than that it was just fine and we loved it.

Also breakfast is pretty decent.

The location was great, and so was the free breakfast. The room was a good size for 2 people, and everything was in good repair. The free WiFi was available at their computers, as well as in the room (probably because my iPhone was set up for international access). One of the young men at the front desk, Fabio, was exceptionally helpful. He made good suggestions for tours, and gave us local information that we wouldn't have known otherwise.

We were very satisfied with the hotel since it was located right outside the Train Station. we managed to get to Pisa via train and it was much cheaper to do our own tour than to book one. Our room at the hotel was very clean and the bathroom was small but satisfactory. We also had a balcony area which was so nice. The walls however were very thin though so if you have noisy neighbours then good luck! we had very noisy neighbours, they would go in an out of the room 20 times and the door would creak and bang and we could hear EVERYTHING.
The hotel did not offer any complimentary bottles of water which would otherwise have been appreciated. They also provided free wifi and connection was good. Breakfast Buffet was adequate but very noise making waiters. They would literally bang the plates and clear up so it was quite disturbing for an early morning to hear the sound of crashing plates and utensils. Over all i would say that the hotel is good because of its location. everything was not more than 12 minutes away.

Room Tip: best is to go for a corner room.

Of the three hotels I stayed at in Italy, this was my favorite. The room was clean and modern looking, and the hotel staff was by FAR the nicest. It was refreshing to find a really nice staff, because at some other hotels the reception didn't seem like they wanted to be bothered with. My belongings felt safe and secure. The location is good too, literally a few minute walk from Santa Maria Novella and the San Lorenzo open air markets. It's also right next to the termini, which has an underground mall in it! Yay! Another big plus was a 99 euro cent store close to it as well, it's a great place to pick up provisions. My only critique was that the shower (as expected) was small, but it had no shelves in it to place soap, shampoo, etc. All in all, a really awesome hotel. Most definitely check it out.

Just across the station. That's the main advantage.
Rooms are average and the bathrooms are small. Very small showers... so don't move much :)
If you are spending less time in rooms... then you can choose this place.
Free internet. There is no safe place to store you baggage in case you checkout and want to pick up later. They have a room, where anyone can store and pick up anyones baggage ( at your own risk). Breakfast is avg... just basic continental.
TV is from from the 80s.. and we didn't care to check if it works. There is no ramp at the entrance.. just steps.. and you need to pick up for luggage, which could be difficult.
Choose this place for the location and basic stay.

Dear M Vijay,
We thank you for staying with us and for your time to provide us with your review about your recent stay.

We take this opportunity to inform all guests whom decide to spend their holiday in old italian cities, that our laws for the protection of the architectural not allow to make some changes to the old palaces and therefore many amenities that can be found in modern hotel chains are being penalized, on the other hand, if you choose the modern hotels you have to deal with the distance from the center. We hope that you appreciated our free wi-fi connection instead to pay an extra charge as required in many modern hotel chain of Europe.

We are very sorry to hear that our breakfast is avg continental, we offer cold and hot like cereals, yoghurt, 2 cakes, various croissants, tomatoes, fresh fruit, scrambles eggs, three kind of bread, slice's bread for toast, ham, cheese, rusks, various marmelade, cream chocolate, butter, fruit juices and the machine with italian and american coffee, chocolate, tea, milk.

We greatly appreciate your time to leave us with your detailed and honest feedback, as it is a learning opportunity to improve and make the necessary changes.

We hope on your next stay you will have a much better experience and a greater feeling of what this hotel can really offer you.

Thank you again for your time and we definitely look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future.
Sincerely,
Elisabetta Argento

The lobby looks good. But too many steps between the entrance to the elevator. There is no ramp, so its really bad if you have big and heavy luggage. So its also not handicape accessible. The room is bad. No mini fridge. Average bad. Old style everything. Closet, TV, bathroom, decor, AC, all old style, like the 80s. Its one of the typical examples of shabby European hotel. Space is enough, but its really disappointing. The room actually looks worst than the photos on the web. Also the toiletire is also bad. You may need to bring your own.

Dear Client,
I apologize if your stay at the Delle Nazioni was not you expected. I am sorry if your impression of the hotel was not satisfactory but I have to point out a few things:
- The hotel has same steps between the entrance to the elevator and usually our staff help our clients with luggage. To be honest we always inform the guests with chair that the hotel is not still accessible for them.
- The mini bar is not listed in our service, moreover our category is not obligate to provide it. We have vending machines on the floors.
- Our furniture are simples as you can see on our web site and you know that the pictures reflect the reality. Please do not give wrong information to clients which are considering our property.
I usually take good note of complaints and take good care of all comments of clients but I cannot accept such a misleading review of our property without defending the good name of our hotel.
