What an all around amazing hotel experience. My whole family was pretty much in love with our experience at the Hotel Degli Orafi.

Located on the Arno river, just a stones throw away from the Ponte Vecchio, the hotel is a short, convenient walk from unlimited shopping, sight seeing, and restaurants (we never needed a cab).

The rooms (we stayed in suites 34 and 35) were immaculate, quiet, and cozy, giving us all the space and comfort of staying in our own private apartment. We even cooked an amazing Christmas dinner in the suite's kitchen, with all the kitchenware we needed provided by the hotel.

The front desk staff consistently went out of their way to make us feel at home, providing helpful recommendations throughout our stay.

Can't wait to stay here again next time I'm in Florence!

December 2012 - Stayed in #51 - 2 bedroom suite for 4 people. First bedroom on main floor with 2 twin beds, full bathroom and on same level as living room. Have to climb 5 steps to kitchen galley. From kitchen galley you have to climb about 5 more steps to landing of 2nd bedroom with king size bed. 2nd bathroom you climb down about 4 steps to bathroom.

Too many levels, no bathtubs, hard beds and had a foul smell in the hallway before entering the room.

Rooms were very clean and terrace bar was very nice and friendly staff. Breakfast was good and in a beautiful room. They give a welcome drink voucher upon arrival. Staff very helpful.

Great location. Internet slow.

First the positives:

Great location and clean
Reception staff average, maid service above average, breakfast staff average, bar staff excellent
The breakfast was average to good. Very good selection.

The negatives:

Only one, the shower is so small and the water temperature impossible to control. You burn yourself and freeze within 5 seconds. Simply terrible.

I will not stay here again, unfortunately, without this water problem corrected. I cannot recommend this hotel for that reason.

Stayed here in October 2012 and could not fault this property, staff were excellent, the room i stayed in was fantastic and the location was second to none!
Will definitely stay at this property again and suggest it to my friends/family. The staff were kind enough to show me the room with a view when i requested.
