“Great Location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2015

The best thing about this hotel is the location. The hotel is right opposite the train station and is walking distance to / from some great restaurants and shops.
Although the rooms are comfortable and very spacious our room looked a bit tired and a in need of a coat of paint. The lighting is very low in the rooms as well. However this hotel is affordable and perfect for a quick stop-over. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of dishes and was enjoyable.

Room Tip: Ask for a garden facing room

Dear Guest,

I thank you for your words and for the time you spend for this, I'm really happy you had good time here at the hotel Aurora where.
At last, we are going to finish the renovation of all the hotel before the 15th march, we had to finish two year ago, but we had bureaucratic problem. Exactly as you mention we totally renovated the lights of the room, the bathroom and the decoration.
We look forward to seeing you again to try the renovated rooms.

My best,
Giovanni Cirnigliaro

The hotel is located right opposite the Firenz SMN ( Santa Maria Novella ) train station. which is the main station in Florence.
when you arrive at the Florence airport take the shuttle bus which is about Euro 6 per person. the last stop is the SMN station.
now this is where you can get lost. there are so many hotels like mushrooms around this area. and no one seems to know any hotel by name. so if you are travelling with someone else. let one person go around and find the hotel before you drag your bags and ruin the wheels. ;-)

a little hint - when you get off the shuttle bus stand with your back to the station. Aurora is on to your right hand side. keep walking till you come to some stairs going down. when you go down the stairs look to your right. Aurora is 50 meters on to your right across the road.

you can basically get to any place in florence from this hotel.
Dont spend money on the hop on hop off bus while you are in this city. You wont see the real Florence if you do so. you will save money but most importantly you will see the city better.
speak to Marco at the reception. he will guide you with the main sights. and I am sure he will advice you to walk instead of taking a tour bus. ;-) it seems like a long way to walk, looking at the map. but it is actually not. when you look around and enjoy the true Firenz, its a breeze. besides its good to walk a bit to burn all those calories you accumulate from the fabulous Italian Pizzas , pastas, etc etc.
The breakfast is fantastic. better than most hotels of this standard. 2 days out of the 6 days we stayed there, there was a small issue with the restaurant and we were given vouchers to have Breakfast at a place next door called "Deanna" have a look at my review on that place too. it was a nice change.
Geovani is the owner of the place. the entire staff carder I must say are well trained and most of all are happy to have you with them . ever willing to help. they even helped us with the train timings. Marco / Davide/Arshard and even the very quiet young man in a red shirt who serves breakfast ,,, they are all top class service personnel.
Giovani, you have a wonderful team.

The Triple room is very big. we were pleasantly surprised. the coverlets and curtains look a bit tired. but the bed sheets and pillows are new clean and fine. the bathroom too is very spacious and newly done.

Its all i ever wanted. Giovani - Congratulations. !!
if we are ever in Florence we will definitely stay with you. Ruchera / Yohan and Tatyana

Travelling with my daughter at the end of October, 2014, on a budget, this hotel was a brilliant choice for us in 'Firenze'. It was extremely close to the Termini and we were able to walk everywhere from here. The service was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We had a lovely, comfortable room with a spacious bathroom on the ground floor and it was great to be able to grab water or a coffee from the vending machines at any time. Breakfast was also excellent and plentiful.

This hotel is affordable and right in the heart of the city of Florence. Look for Marco Muratore who is a very professional face at this hotel. Always helpful, nothing was too much trouble. He made you feel welcome and he understands the importance of respectful service. The breakfasts were great value and the other staff were happy to serve. Ground floor rooms are comfortable and contain a fabulous shower configuration. Minutes away from everything Florence including great restaurants, shopping and sights. It look for Marco. He really does a great job.

We spent two nights here last October and enjoyed it so much we returned for six nights. The hotel is clean, comfortable and perfectly located for the station and all the sights.
The staff could give master classes in customer service. Every effort is made to make clients feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble.
I would recommend the Aurora Hotel as the perfect base from which to explore Florence and I am already planning to return.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. It's literally across the road from Firenze SMN. It was the main reason we selected the hotel (besides cost of course), as we were travelling out of Florence half of the days we were there.

The check-in was simple enough but our room was average at best. It was decently sized and fairly comfortable but looking at some pics on TripAdvisor, we were definitely given an older/unrefurbished unit. The bed, linen and furnishing were pretty old. However the room was clean and that's what is most important. The bathroom was spacious but the shower itself was small and was basically a confined square. The shower screen doors were old and didn't close properly so it was easy to flood the bathroom floor. Basically the room didn't match any of the photos posted online.

I gave them a very good rating mainly because they met our stay requirements which was clean, ensuite and close to the train station. If I were to rate on the room itself, it would have to be average at best. The breakfast served was also mediocre but I'm not too fussed with that.

Dear Guest,
I thank you for your words and for the time you spend for this, I'm really happy you had good time here at the hotel Aurora.
I confirm that the room we had was a bit dated, 8 years since the last renovation.
We have renovated at the moment 50% of the rooms, we hope this winter, allowing government taxes, to finish (we would have to finish the renovation two years ago but the accounting never fit in Italy in this historic moment).

We look forward to seeing you again so you can stay in our renovated room.

My best,
Giovanni Cirnigliaro
