“Great location for exploring Florence.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

The location of the hotel is a huge bonus - only 10 minutes from Firenze SMN and very close to all the other main attractions. You can see the Duomo as you step out of the hotel.
The reception staff are all extremely helpful and friendly. They organised flowers for my husband to be in the room on our arrival, as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we had a complimentary bottle of prosecco on ice.
Our room was clean and comfortable with ensuite bathroom.
Breakfast was continental style and more than adequate.
We would definitely stay here again and recommend this great hotel to family and friends visiting Florence.

Within walking distance of the main railway station and the Duomo. Staff very friendly and provided some great advice on different places to visit as well as some wonderful restaurants which were a little off the beaten track and would have been hard for a tourist to find. The room was small but as we were out all day it wasn't a problem. Everything else about the hotel more than made up for the small room.

Pros:

DISTANCE: About 10 to 15 min walks from the Firenze SMN Termini (train station), so you don’t need a cab. It's a 30 sec walk to the piazza del duomo which is the main attraction of Firenze.
BREAKFAST: Really good buffet breakfast served with fresh coffee as you want it (not an automatic coffee machine)

BUSINESS CHAIN OR INDIVIDUAL OWNER: You don't feel like it is a business chain because of the closer contact and interactions with the staff, but works like a chain, which is great. The owner (who works there) and the staff are really friendly and knows a lot about the place. The owner is an expat, therefore her English is perfect. But all the staff speak fluently in English. That’s a really good added advantage to have your many questions answered.

ROOMS: perfect size, clean, bed comfortable, smell good in the place, AC working pretty well, no noise from outside (our window view was facing the interior square, which was not really lovely to see without any landscape, but you don’t need it because the real things to see are when you walk outside!).

BATHROOM:: They are a bit small, but shower place for 2 with hairdryer.
Reservation online without any problem.

Cons: None
No place to park your car, if you have a car.

The hotel is situated about a 15 minute walk from Firenze SMN station and it is about a 2 minute walk to the main Duomo. It occupies the upper floors of the building and is reached by an elevator.

The staff on the reception desk are excellent and are a wealth of information on the city and the surrounding area.

If you want a centrally located hotel, with comfortable rooms (ours was en suite), within walking distance of all of the main attractions, then this is for you.

This hotel is in a perfect location, a very short walk to the Duomo and you are in the heart of this city. It is also only a 10min walk from the train station - you don't need to use any public transport here.
Even though it is right in the centre there was not much if any noise at night so a good nights sleep was had.
The room was comfortable, clean and had a spacious bathroom - not a fancy room - but perfect in every way and has everything you need.
The staff are very helpful and will assist you with tourist information.

The breakfast room is quite small - the range of food available at breakfast didn't excite me, but again it had enough of a variety to get you ready for a day of exploring.

This isn't a luxury hotel - but it is a great base to stay at and ticked all the boxes for comfort, cleanliness and location.

I would recommend this hotel and stay here again.

Couldn't be in a better central location.Very friendly; clean; and comfortable. Very good and substantial breakfasts. More than lived up to the reviews & the information on the hotel website. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hotel Perseo to anyone visiting Florence.

June 2013, room with the small bell tower view, two people.
Very Clean, modern amenities, no frills. Nice 3 star hotel, small, on the upper floors of a building. Most bathrooms have a TINY square shower stall, no bath.... be sure to ask for other if needed. Included Breakfast in small breakfast room: meats, cheeses, pastries, hard boiled eggs, fruit, drinks...is all good, gets your day started. Room looking at Duomo would be nice too.

Room Tip: Room with bell tower view is nice, with a big bed, ok desk, ok closet, but it has a TINY phone-booth...
