Prior to our visit to Florence I asked when booking the Hotel Perseo if we could possibly have a room overlooking the Bell Tower and was promised one, but didn't imagine for one moment that to give us that we would be automatically upgraded to a larger room for free to give us the view. That was exactly what we got and the view was superb. Thanks Perseo.
The hotel is 5 mins walk from the S Maria Novella train station (€7.10pp from Pisa airport) and a few step away from the Duomo cathereral so you couldn't ask for a better location right in the heart of the main Florence tourist area with all the shops, restaurants etc. You go up in a small lift to the 3rd floor to the hotel reception and lounge/bar/breakfast room. Our Bell Tower view room was on the 4th floor. Breakfast was continental, adequate, and got you off to a good start, and the whole hotel and rooms are kept to a very high standard which is always a big tick on our list. All the staff are very friendly and the owners wife is Australian so no language problems and great advise and directions. All in all a great hotel worthy of its high rating.
