“Worth the climb for the view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2014 NEW

I was worried about attempting this climb but wanted to do it so much that I bit the bullet.
I was worried that I would be holding up younger, fitter, thinner people than me. I am 61 and built for comfort!
I needn't have worried, I attempted the climb 'in chunks'. - There were a few places where I could stop to catch my breath without being a hindrance.
It got narrower the higher up you went but there was still room for people to squeeze past if necessary.
The view at the top and the feeling of having accomplished the climb were brilliant.

“WOW!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2014 NEW

There is a line to enter and an entry fee of 10 Euro, but it is worth the 414 step climb as the Campanile provides some of the most remarkable views of the city of Florence. Finished in 1359, this incredible tower is as beautiful as it is historic. The stairway is tiny, dark, and made of stone. The passageway is cramped enough already but there isn't much regulation of patrons coming up and down the steps, creating a difficult climb to the top if you end up pressed against the walls, sliding past other climbers. Despite cramped quarters during the climb, the views are incredible and this absolutely cannot be missed.

“STUNNING LOOKING TOWER”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2014 NEW

Climbing this stunning looking bell tower was part of one day we put aside to see all the religious buildings in Piazza del Duomo while staying in lovely Florence. Buy the 10 Euro ticket which allows you entry to them all over a 24 hour period , good value. This beautifull marble decorated tower was started in 1334 and is 85 metres high. With 414 steps to the top it is not for the faint hearted or for those with walking problems, fantastic views from the top make the effort well worth while. Good place for taking photos. It contains 7 bells. We loved it , must go up when in Florence

“Great vantage point”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2014 NEW

The climb is challenging - narrow, steep and a long way to the top. But the view from the top was spectacular. Good way to shed some calories too!
