Owner description: This 19th century piazza has undoubtedly the best panoramic view of Florence. The square is decorated with copies of Michelangelo's sculptures, but it's the view people come here to see.

Amazing view of Florence! It should be visited during the day and the night. If you love shooting, spend at least an hour there. Due to the crowds you should be patient to get the right spot on the terrace.

“Wonderful views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2014

Definitely a walk up hill so be prepared or take a cab....the walk was lovely though. Once on top of the hill you have great views of Florence, the replica of the David also. A cute cafe

“Best bit in florence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2014

If your only here for a day trip - GO to Piazzale Michelangelo. It is absolutely gorgeous, we spent about an hour up here, as it is so peaceful. If you are here for a few days then go once in the day and once at night, as you will see the city light up :D

“great view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2014

Although it's a little bit of a trek to climb up to the statue -the view of Florence makes it worth while. Also good to note that it takes you right by beautiful rose gardens and if you are there in spring, the iris garden is right around the corner -and worth a visit. There are also two churches up there that we explored. We didn't find a food place to eat up there -but there is a cute restaurant/wine bar near the base -Fuori Porta.

“views of the city are breathtaking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2014

the piazzale itself isn't so much the drawcard, but the views it produces are. You can see a wonderful panorama of Florence. To the left you can even see the ancient city walls and the stark contrast between the rolling hills and olive trees on one side of the wall and the city buildings on the other
