Very easily accessible by bus OR from train station. The city view from the top is amazing. You can have a nice walk around. It has small shops at the top. Go & visit during evening, late-evening hours. . . the city view is at it's best during that time.
Michelangelo's place is near to San Miniato church, from the square you can admire a beautiful landscape of Florence.

We did this on a beautiful cold but sunny day.Well worth the climb up to see..absolutely stunning views that took your breath away,sat gazing at the view for ages whilst listening to a great sounding busker!! A lovely time was had by all!
A trip across the Arno to the Piazzale Michelangelo is well worth it. The view of the city, especially at sunset, is spectacular.
We had no choice but had to go on a foggy day-the view was still very impressive. We took the Hop On Hop Off bus since it was not a nice day for the walk- the company has a stop there. Across the street there is an upscale restaurant, where we warmed up and had a nice dessert.
