The Florentines themselves like to come here at sunset it offers a remarkable vista over the city which is laid out below like painting. The river Arno, the Ponte Vecchio, The Santa Croce, The Duomo and the sunset. Unforgettable.
We ended our day at this lookout. Yet another replica of David. Just a beautiful spot to take photos of Florence and the sun setting over Florence.!!!! The sun set over the bridges and river with the skyline is magnifisant!!! I recommend that you visit this lookout in time for sunset. Make sure you know the time when the last public bus goes by if this is your means of transport. There are no better way to end a visit to Florence than taking memorable photo moments at this lookout.
This square gives you a top view of Florence and is really a very good spot for panoramic photographs. It also had a less-perfect version of Michelangelo's David. So if you won't have time to see the one in the museum, you'll get a good idea on what the statue is about :)
My advice is to keep this site for the afternoon. After a long walk in Florence, it's nice to end your day relaxing on the stairs and watching Florence from above.
Gorgeous views of Florence, nice walk across the river into the city, and FREE PARKING. What's better than this?
