“A little gem in Florence”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful trip to Florence. We stayed at the Botticelli for the entire visit. The staff were friendly, professional and very helpful, particularly the lady at reception whose name I forgot to ask. We were very lucky to have a room which was comparitively quiet, of a reasonable size and very clean. The bed linen was changed regularly and the towels in the bathroom seemed to be clean every day. The hotel is in an old historic building, which adds to it's charm. It's exceptionally well placed for most of the sights and also the railway station, which is only ten minutes walk away. The breakfasts were perfectly adequate. There are several restaurants close by. We particularly liked Pepo where the food and service was really excellent. We felt that as a 3* hotel the Bottecelli gave us excellent value for money. We would certainly go back. Thank you Bottecelli!!

What a disappointment this hotel was. The location was great and the staff marvellous and thats where it ended.
The room was as small a room as could be and still have the cheek to call it a double room. The bed might of been adouble but certainly not the room. The bathroom was the smallest I have encountered, even had a plastic curtain over the bathroom window that became attached to you during your shower.
Breakfast was a basic continental which sufficed withoutbeing special.
Considering the cost was a big disappointment.

The staff at the Botticelli put other hotels, large and small, to shame. Friendly, helpful, well qualified in any and all areas. The hotel is a gem in a beautiful city, small but not cramped. Located very close to all of the major tourist sites, if you can't find the Duomo from here the staff will direct you. My wife and I love Italy and 2013 will see our 3rd trip to Florence, yes back to the Botticelli!,
Sorrento and Venice will be next for their revisit but in my heart I will always go "home" to the Botticelli.

Room Tip: Try to get one near the roof terrace

My first trip to Florence was made so much nicer because of the Botticelli Hotel! A quick walk to the Duomo and train station, the staff was incredibly helpful and the hotel was quiet. I enjoyed the breakfasts too!

Rooms have a lot of TV channels (all in Italian), a safe, hairdryer and the AC works wonderfully!

Thanks for an awesome stay!

Beautiful place to stay! We were on the second floor with the terrace, so quaint! Accomodations wonderful, staff a little reserved comparing to the warmth received in other places. Overall, great place to relax and rest.

My husband and I stayed in the Botticelli for 3 nights on our recent trip to Italy. The hotel was very disappointing after reading multiple positive reviews and have great expectations for the hotel. The staff was civil at best, after checking in we asked for a city map and when I asked her to point out the location of the hotel so we could orient ourselves she begrudgingly did so with an attitude. The location was a short walk to the majority of sites however the street noise was extreemly loud making for 3 nights of tossing and turning. The room itself was small and dinghy at best. The carpets are in major need of replacing and the bathroom was cramped and dirty. I am pretty sure they never cleaned the grout between the tiles as you could see mildew and mold in the corners of the floor. The biggest redeaming quality of the hotel was a lovely terrace off the second floor hallway which was a great place to relax after a day of sight seeing before heading out to dinner. Overall I would not recommend this hotel, it was not a good value for the price.

When we got there we were given a room on the first floor. We asked if it was quiet and they said it was. What they forgot to tell us is that the path they mentioned that goes up the side of the hotel is used by scooters as a short cut and it was actually really noisy.

They also forgot to tell us that the maid had left the very high bathroom window open, so the first night we were eaten by mosquitos.

The second day we swapped to a room at the back of the hotel that was higher up. This room was great and it is a pity we were not given this the first night we arrived.

There was a very good breakfast provided and an Internet kiosk next to the breakfast room.

The location was great - handy to the station, shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. The instructions we printed off to get us form the train station to the hotel were excellent.

We would stay there again but would want to know that we had a reasonable room to stay in.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room that is high up and at the back of the hotel.
