“a pleasant surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

good accommodation, the room we had was clean and comfortable and there was a good sized wet room. Breakfast was a reasonably priced with a selection of the usual breads, hams and cheeses, with fruit, cereals and yoghourts as well, regularly replenished. Helpful, pleasant friendly staff. Bonus was a shop selling water just over the road. There was a short walk to all attractions, as well as the train station, so don't take a taxi unless you really have to. We had a ground floor room which was great as we live in a bungalow and are not used to stairs, They also seem to cater to the disabled as there was a lady there in a wheelchair who seemed to know the staff well. Good restaurants close by, especially Nerone where there is a gorgeous walled garden if you like eating al fresco. Very good value for the price, can recommend it.

Room Tip: three rooms on the ground floor, great for people who can't do stairs, as there was no lift

We chose this hotel because of price and we were delighted to find that we got a huge room, a huge bathroom, with fully equipped disabled facilities. The furniture is old but full of character. It had an air of faded gentility and I loved this about it.
The receptionists were all very helpful and friendly and enthusiastic. They made phone calls for us in Italian when we needed, recommended good restaurants and gave us excellent directions.
It's a bit hard to find if you're driving because Sat nav gives wrong directions!!! But the location is superb, if a little dangerous being so close to the markets. We loved our stay there. Oh, the breakfasts were great to

Room Tip: If you're disabled ask for the disabled room. It's the best equipped and biggest room I'...

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights towards the end of September. We enjoyed our stay there very much and it is very conveniently located to the rail station and major tourist sites in Florence. But this hotel is different to any we have been to. Perhaps this is due to the young lady receptionist playing the piano and singing opera with professional quality over breakfast. And she can converse in several languages, is a very good receptionist providing expert travel advice and helping in every respect. Now I would ask, where do you find staff like that? And is able to make good espresso coffee to boot! But then the rest of the staff are also extremely helpful with our room being serviced to a high standard. Breakfast was excellent including the cappuccino. The yellow room we stayed in was possibly the biggest hotel room in Florence! We left Hotel Azzi for Sorrento with a smile.

Room Tip: the "yellow" room was good for us

Nice interiers, nice friendly staff that speaks english and helped us a lot with our car-parking. The only one negative was a bit "loudy morning" because of all the noise from the street. Breakfast was great too. I do recommend this nice hotel in the very centre of Florence.

My partner and I stayed at Albergo Azzi for three nights. We had a great room, good size with a large balcony all to ourself. The room was clean and bright. The bathroom was tiny, but that seems standard in Europe with a bidet crammed in there too. Breakfast was wonderful. Located close to the train station and within walking distance of all the major sights.

I would recommend this place!
Pros: Receptionists were very nice and welcoming. Breakfast was very good. Within walking distance of everything! Not too expensive. Private parking lot. Included small tv, oscillating fan.
Cons: Difficult to find! A/C was broken, which was terrible because of the extreme heat. Parking was very expensive (€20/day). Some furniture not very up-to-date.
But, all in all, this is a good place to stay for a decent price.

Let me start by staying we stayed here because of the price. We booked our room through Venere and got if for cheap because the bathroom was next door.

Upon arrival we were surprised with how dark and dingy the reception area appeared although we were greeted warmly. We got there early morning so we couldn't check in right away (which is totally understandable, we expected as much) but were told we could leave our bags, which we then deposited into a room filled with lots of other traveler's bags. This part did concern me a bit, being that someone could just take our bags but they were still there when we returned late afternoon. We were also given a map and there was a restroom we could use before heading out to explore.

Upon returning we were shown to our room. This part did confuse us a bit because we were shown to the second floor and stayed in the part that stated it was Hotel Anna's. (?) Never the less the room was clean and we had ac. Our bathroom was right next door and was clean and the water got very hot.

Overall we were satisfied with our one night stay for the price. Would we stay here again? Probably not.

Pros: Location to Train Station, Clean Rooms and Clean Bathroom, Free Wi-fi

Cons: Receptions area a little dark and dingy, Not as new and pretty as their pictures show
