My spouse and adult children spent four nights at the Alessandra. In our opinion it is in the perfect location! Around the corner from the Arno and the Ponte Vecchio, a dozen blocks to the Duomo and with multiple restaurants in the area, we tried all of them, can't go wrong, pick on and eat! The Hotel did have multiple layers of stairs to climb. I had both of my knees replaced one year ago and had no problem managing the stairs and those times I felt I didn't want to climb, I used the lift. Ask for a room with a view of the Arno, they were large with excellent bathroom facilities the view was to die for, our room was HUGE! Our kids had the same reaction to their rooms, very large, beautiful rooms. Exceptionally clean. Breakfast was wonderful, their dining room attendants were spot on providing cappuccino/espresso, etc. Our only complaint, the mattresses were as hard as bricks. If they could replace the mattresses in the rooms they'd be 5 stars without question. My first foray to Florence, my husbands been their multiple times, as a pilot, he'll be returning to Florence. I'm very happy I chose the Alessandra for our visit as a family!
