“Lovely room, friendly staff and great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2014

My partner and I stopped at this hotel for 3 nights. We had the room that was across from reception which at first worried us, perhaps excess noise due to guests coming and going, but we had no issue at all. The room was a good size, the bathroom was a bit of a strange shape, but this is more an observation that a criticism. There was ample wardrobe space and after having a slight problem with the light, the lady at the reception helped immediately and also provided us with the correct socket adapter. We never ate the breakfast so unable to comment on that. The free wifi connection was excellent and we managed to store our luggage after checkout as we were not due to depart until after lunchtime. This hotel is great if you are traveling to Florence by train due to the location and we were 2 mins walk away from Basilica of Santa Maria Novella.

Arrived early and there was no problem leaving the bags there free of charge. Lady at the desk was extremely helpful and friendly. Extremely central location with many restaurants and attractions very close-by. The room had a powerful ceiling fan and comfortable bed. Bathroom was located across the hall but was private.
However there were a good few steep stairs to climb to get to the room so this would not be an ideal place for anyone who would struggle to climb stairs.
All in all, lovely stay.

Room Tip: Rooms on top floor have many steep stairs

We were not expecting big things as we got this hotel at a very reasonable price, however we were pleasantly surprised. The location of this hotel was perfect, about halfway between the railway station and the Duomo. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The room was small but clean and the towels were changed everyday. Breakfast was included and was simple yet filling. On the first night that we arrived a friendly member of staff brought a small caraffe of wine and some snacks to our room, which he explained was a welcome drink that was included in the booking of the room, this was a lovely gesture that was certainly not expected.

Room very nice and clean, towels fresh every day; shower small but usable.
The staff was very nice and helpful, all of them; useful advice and help with bookings. The location really can't be better, about halfway the railway station and the Duomo (300m each way).

Room Tip: Reception and room #1 on first floor, all other rooms and breakfast 2nd floor.

The location of this hotel is about 5 minutes from the railway station and close to sightseeing and shopping districts. The room was acceptable in size, but the bathroom is substandard. I believe it is because it was a late addition to the building layout.
This hotel has no lift nor escalator beware if you carry a heavy suitcase.

Good hotel for normal price (it was low season so the price was really okay). Fantasic localization - only 100m walking distance to Mail Railway Station and about 5-10min of walking to other mail attractions of Florence. Bed linen and towels included in price. Room was okay with shared bathroom in the corridor but we had no problem with it as there was only 3 rooms for one bathroom and it was always free when we wanted . Wifi worked fine. Hotel staff welcoming no problem with English at all.

Not the quiet area though - a lot of motorbikes and cleaning machines on the streets even in the middle of the night! who is cleaning the street at 3 AM, gosh?! Other than that was okay

The hostel is really in the center of Florence, very easy to find from the railway station, and literally just a few steps from the main attractions (dome, etc.).

The room was a little one with a bed and a sink, nothing more, but was fair enough to fell asleep after walking our legs off. Though clean and tidy, so the bathroom was outside the room, but right nex to it.

The staff was very helpful, both the nice young lady and the friendly guy at the reception desk, thank you!

Overall, it is not a hotel, so if you expect a hotel quality you should look for something else, but for backpacking and exploring the city this is a very good choce for very good price and super friendly hospitality!
