“Old world charm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

The hotel is set in the heart of the town but very difficult regarding parking as it is within the limited driving zone, and very stressful if you don't know the system. The hotel arranges garage parking at a price!
The room was clean but the bathroom was the smallest I have ever been in, and the bidet was unusable because there was so little space between it and the toilet, and I'm slim, don't try this if you're more than 1kilo overweight please! There are a lot of stairs and some rooms cannot be reached by the lift, so if you are the slightest incapacitated, think twice.
Having said that we were comfortable and within walking distance of the whole city and major sites. The breakfast system was we got 1 breakfast free, and then you pay for the other, strange again, but I suppose one wouldn't eat without the other, so it's good marketing. We had breakfast together the first morning and then strolled out the next morning. The staff are friendly and helpful and everyone speaks English, a bonus!
It appears to be expensive but Italy in general is fairly costly anyway.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with good access, I don't know that there are any, but surely there must be

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Great location within the walking distance to every landmark, clean spacious rooms and very friendly and helpful staff! Loved our experience here! Would stay again.

I can highly recommend this hotel, if you visit Florence. The hotel is located in the city center, close to ponte vecchio and the palazzo pitti. Althoug its central location, our room was very quiet with a beautiful view on the Boboli garden.
The room was bright and spacious with a great bathroom, everything was very clean.
The staff was very friendly and helpful at all time.
And the one thing we liked the most: the terrace! So nice, quiet, with an unbelievable gorgeous view over the city. Highy highly recommended!

I'll keep this simple. We travel a bit and finding hotels that meet the reviews and brochure are tough. This one is understated ! Location is Perfect to the City and its sites. Roof Top bar was a Fantastic. A perfect way to wind down each day's travel. Service was on top of everything and the Porter was great asset. Cost was below expectations as we found a Quad room to accommodate our family. Never find that at home and the price was still below expectations. Unique setting as the hotel had great character in variations of levels, hallways and sitting areas. Any negatives I read in reviews before I visited were minor picky travelers looking for something to say.....as La Scaletta was perfect for our 8 day stay.

Room Tip: The Street side is alive...but can get loud...but gives you a constant beat of the City.

Location: Just 5 minutes walk from Ponte Vecchio, this hotel is great for a couple night stay in Florence. Restaurants are available down the street or just a 5-8 minutes walk away. It is also located along the shopping street, with a number of leather shops and the famous Il Papiro stationary shop.

Restaurants nearby: Osteria Cinghiale Bianco, Trattoria Mama Gina, JT caffe (opposite Palazzo Pitti).

Places of interest: Ponte Vecchio & Palazzo Pitti (both 5 minutes walk away)

Room & service: got a junior suite and loved it. Comes with a bath tub in the room for a nice romantic holiday. Customer service was great, with staff offering guides & maps to help you get around.

Cons: the walls are quite thin. I can hear my neighbours coming back and hear them opening & closing their doors.

Stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Florence. So as all the other reviews say, there is a lot of stairs so think carefully if you have disabled members of your group or lots of baggage/pushchairs etc... Having said that the hotel has a friendly porter who else us.

The room was modern and very clean. Towels were changed every other day and our bedding was not changed while we were here, however I wouldn't change my bed everyday at home, so no issue. The walls are thin and we did experience neighbour noise some nights, Italians don't seem to be aware of the volume of their own voices, especially at 2 in the morning!

Location is superb. Out the door and to the left your at piazza pitti and to the right the ponte vecchio and the uffizi gallery, you'd struggle to get a better location than this.

Minor gripe, no milk offered in the rooms to go with the tea & coffee facilities provided, I had to go up 3 flights to reception to get it. If your going to provide the facilities guys, you should provide milk.

Otherwise a pleasant stay, staff friendly and hotel, I felt, was good value.

We picked this hotel due to the good reviews on Tripadvisor and especially the comments suggesting it was good value for money. The actual experience was better than expected. Never having been to Florence before, we were unprepared for the almost Disneyland atmosphere of the touristy area around the Ponte Vecchio. It was a relief to be able to escape the crowds in our lovely room overlooking a quiet courtyard with the lovely Tuscan hills visible beyond the walls. The room was clean and modern with great wifi reception. We never got up in time to try breakfast, so I can't comment on that, but the rooftop deck off the breakfast room has great views of the Arno and the city.

Room Tip: We were very pleased to have a room overlooking the courtyard.
