“What a fun time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2012

The staff of Salvatore, Roberto and Iris are the Best. And The Best Irish Coffee. There were six of us, laughing and talking and a little on the loud side. We felt very welcomed. I took photos of coffees being made.

“Awesome place”

Had a wonderful time . Roberto and Salvatore made our visit memorable. Of course, we were not about being quiet but celebrating being Florence. Absolute joy of a visit.

“A quick bite right by the Ponte Vecchio”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

We needed a break from the museums and shopping and this was next to a glove store we were headed to. The owner encouraged us to come in, and there are tons of selections in the display cases. We made our choices, and the waitress upstairs encouraged us to move to a room on the next level with a nice view. The food was good, and the staff was very nice.

“Nice gelato but unfairly high prices!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

So my Suffolk U., study abroad photography class was making a walking tour of Florence with a local professor from our host institution in Italy and we had just crossed the Ponte Vecchio when we had the idea to stop for a little refreshment. My wife and I decided to treat everyone to gelato before hiking up the hill to the Michaelangelo Park overlook. We order gelato all around for, let me remember, ten people. All sat for a bit to enjoy a standard cone of the favorite flavors, had a little conversation about the Rose and Iris festivals nearby, the Cellini statue on the bridge, etc...then it was time for the check...7 Euros per cone...about $11.00 each!!! I mentioned to the counter man that we just had regular cones not large and he could only say , that was the price. I'll let the reader do the math. So pay we did or rather fork over the booty!

As we left I mentioned to our Florentine friend that it seemed a little expensive to which she replied that it was close to the bridge after all. It would have been nice if that had been mentioned before we ordered, because we were just walking towards a great looking neighborhood gelateria a good distance away from the bridge with a lot of kids and locals enjoying better looking cones at ordinary prices. I can't blame our friend as it must be difficult to know what some American visitors might care about, costs in our case, or be expecting.

Will we go back to this place? NO! Pay and learn I guess....
