Great location, quite poor room, service is ok. The bells are very disturbing, impossible to sleep. The shower could be better. And the curtains too. As for me, it's a little overpriced. But thehe you have free WiFi.

The hotel is very conveniently located, right in the city center, the main cathedral Duomo is in two minutes walk. From the train station you have to walk to the hotel about 10 minutes. The same walking distance is absolutely to all main attractions. Room is with a shower, there is no TV in the room. Internet acсess is free. Room rates are reasonable for the cental location of the hotel. It was cool in January and the battery was turned off during the day, so in the room it was cold also in daytime. But if you need you can take an additional blanket from the wardrobe. The room has a very small bathroom and a shower with a hole in the floor, I did not use it. Breakfast was included in the price, but it is only bread and butter, jam and coffee from the coffee machine.
But in general, I was satisfied with my hotel choice since all major attractions of Florence were close to the hotel, it was possible to reach them by walk for 10-20 minutes. In the next door (near the hotel entrance) there is a great little cafe where you can drink good coffee with delicious cakes.

When I checked in, the girl from desk try to push me to the "apartments" of arounds. After reading all reports here I avoided it, since this I need to wait AFTER check-in time to get into the room: small, no entertainment (just the bells of the Duomo). Heather is CHAOS. They switch it on in the evening and then they turn it off. Carpet smells like mud, by chance my single room wasn't carpeted. Breakfast is disgusting. Avoid it at all. Wi-Fi available just at 1st floor. Towel (singular) absolutely to be ashamed (VERY VERY THIN). You need to get in the mood of the bells to be there. Spend 3 nights by myself visiting Tuscany. No receipt for "Touristic tax" at all. Staff sometimes OK, sometimes disgusting. They should take this carpet off before summer because I think it will be much more disgusting.

The hotel is very basic: Tile floors, small bathroom, old building. But it's well kept, it's clean and has everything you need. The location makes up for the spartan rooms: It is literally one block away from the cathedral, in the heart of Florence. Breakfast is basic but enough to start the day: self service fruit juice and coffee/tea, bread, butter and marmalade. Rooms don't have a TV. Bathrooms are small, and the showers need an upgrade because the floor of the whole bathroom is wet after you take a shower. Overall, I would recommend the hotel merely because of the convenient location and the fact that it is a clean and affordable place. The terrace on the top floor offers some amazing views of the palace and the cathedral...highly recommended. But watch out: If you're not a morning person, you might have an unpleasant wake up alarm: the bells in the cathedral start ringing around 6am, and they are LOUD!

Room Tip: If you don't mind the bells in the morning, a room with a view of the cathedral is beautiful. If...

We stay here every time we come to Florence, it's an excellent no frills hotel, with the best views of any hotel when you stay on the top floor.

Gabriele is always super helpful and friendly, trying to get the rooms we prefer.

Robelio's cafe next door to the hotel does great breakfast, which we take up on to the terrace and enjoy the view of the Duomo and city.

I wanted to like this place, but Staff was rude at times, breakfast a joke, very noisy. They stuck us in a apartment down the street- no window & was actually an attic, didnt even offer to help with bags. I asked to be moved to the main hotel & was able to move to the 6th floor the second night for 20 euros extra. it was so noisy we didn't sleep at all. Complained to person at the desk that people were on the terrace after 11 but he didn't do anything about it & claimed he didn't speak English. Most of rooms do not have own bathrooms on 6th floor, ours did but it was just a shower curtain. No safe available in rooms. I could go on and on... The only reason this place can charge 100 euros per night is because of that terrace. It would be 30 euro hostal if not for the location & terrace. Listen to ur fellow travelers & stay somewhere that will appreciate your business.

Great location, you get to hear all the action even if you do not get out (including the bells to wake you up), but this is not "you get what you pay for".

There was no hot water pressure, so we had to squeeze against the wall to wash (or wash in cold water). I brought soap and shampoo from home, but I should have brought towels - they are actually large dish cloths. The heating is central, you cannot control it. Cold during the day, hot during the night.

The breakfast was continental, ok. But the butter was cold from the fridge - we could not spread it properly. The buns were cold, too. The coffee was from a machine, no real milk, and the juice was something that had nothing natural in it - another machine made.

We ordered a room for 3, but were only 2, and got a coffin we could barely fit in. I tried getting the price difference back or a bigger room. I got a slightly larger room, claiming that if I wanted, the maid could stick another bed in the larger room.

Room Tip: The top rooms open to a roof terrace, which you can then access after 23:00.
