“Modern, clean, very nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We had a very nice 3 night stay. The room was lovely, big, clean, quiet, modern, everything we would want. The staff were all friendly, welcoming and helpful.
The location is great, about 10 minutes walk to the centre of the city, very close to the train station with plenty of very good restaurants close by. There is parking on site at the rear of the hotel for an extra daily fee.
It felt like a very peaceful place, away from the crowds of the city centre. We enjoyed after dinner drinks at the bar and sat out on the terrace.
The breakfast buffet was very good, with a wide selection.
Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and would choose to stay here again next time we're in town.

Living in a rural area in the province of Florence, me and my wife sometimes manage to leave the kids with their granny and spend the evening and the night in the city. That is how we got to Hotel Londra on a Saturday night, taking advantage of a very nice online offer. We had already tested their sister property in Milan and can confirm the same very good opinion. Large room, modern furniture, very good selection at breakfast, own parking facility at reasonable price, very close to all main attractions, friendly and efficient staff. Really very good value for money.

Our room was pleasant--except for the bed, which was horribly uncomfortable. We discovered that it was a hard, thin mattress on top of a board (yes, an actual wooden board). Needless to say, we did not rest well for the two nights we were there. Then I injured my foot on the hallway steps (and had to go to the hospital for treatment) and the man at the hotel reception desk was most unkind and acted like I had inconvenienced him. He was quite disdainful. The hallway steps are carpeted with a horizontal stripe, and they are truly an optical illusion - and there is no handrail to hold onto, so I missed the last step.

The food was good though, and the room service gentleman who brought me food when I returned from my visit to the hospital was very kind.

Room Tip: Ask about the mattress! And if you are sensitive to noise, ask for a room on the opposite side of t...

First of all, it is very clean. The hotel is used by lots of tour groups because it is near to the old city and transportation; railroad station is just up the block. It is about 15 minutes walk to the Duomo and a 13 euro cab ride to the Uffizi Gallery. Many nice places to eat close by in the Old City.
It is in the process of being renovated so some of the rooms are wonderful and some need help still. We started in a room that faced the trolley rails and it was quite noisy. Got a change and faced the courtyard which was much better for sleep.
Rooms and bathrooms are quite small but this is Italy.
The reception desk was very helpful.
The breakfast buffet was excellent.

Room Tip: Don't face the front of the hotel.

The hotel had a good location close to the Florence rail station and also the trolley end of line (which goes out of the city). It was within walking distance to the old city center and all of the exciting historic sites, and in turn one could walk to many restaurant.

The hotel seemed like an older hotel, and my balcony view to the front of the hotel overlooked an inactive old building and trolley tracks, which was perfectly fine. Although it was an older hotel (everything in Florence has some age to it), it was clean and comfortable, and I would consider using them again.

My group ate breakfast there which was very good with a nice selection of items.

We stayed in the "design double room". State of the art decor in this room was very impressive (mini TV screen in the bathroom mirror was my favourite). Location is excellent - very close to Santa Maria Novella station and walking distance from centre, Duomo and Ponte Vecchio (in fact you can walk to everything easily in Florence). A wall was stained probably from some pipe problems but it didn't bother us. Bath robes were provided, towels were replaced daily and a menu was available for breakfast and room service. Tea and coffee facilities also provided daily. TV and internet were working perfectly fine. The staff are ever so helpful (printed off my tickets for museums) and the hotel features a little boutique. The dining and lounging areas were gorgeous. Breakfast was great too, great variety and everything was looking nice and fresh.

Room Tip: All rooms look nice in the pictures but go for the "design" rooms if you like state of the...
