We have three kids and found it difficult to find accommodations in Europe for anything more than two kids--this hotel was fantastic! Our room was huge, our beds were comfortable, the included breakfast was delicious, and the staff was fantastic. The bathrooms were large and modern, and the hotel was conveniently located close to all the major Florence attractions. We were extremely happy with our accommodations there.

Room Tip: Our room was street side, but was still very quiet. Contact the hotel directly if you are making res...

Il Guelfo Bianco is located two long blocks north of the Duomo and just around the corner from the Central Market. The rooms feel a bit "old" but have interesting furnishings and features. The bedding was wonderful, and the bathrooms are modern, clean and comfortable. The courtyard breakfast area was a nice surprise. The breakfast offerings were good but only average. The staff was very friendly and very helpful.

Spent a long week-end with my wife and kid. Location, huge room, nice breakfast and friendly staff made of this Hotel a place I'd recommend if you're travelling to Florence. Price, 200€/night, was perhaps a bit too expensive. But everything else was just fine.

My husband and I stayed in Il Guelfo Bianco from July 4-8 and loved it! First of all. the location is just fantastic--within walking distance from many of the sights, and a two-minute walk to the leather market--heaven!! Our room was huge, with a lovely fresco on the ceiling, a sitting area, and large living space. It was typical Florence, which is what we wanted--if you are looking for a Marriott-type hotel, this isn't for you! I want to thank Antonella, one of the concierges, who was always ready with a friendly smile and lots of recommendations and suggestions. The breakfast buffet was good and ample as well. The only complaint I have is that one night my husband and I came in and nobody was at the desk. We had to take our own key, since we waited around fifteen minutes and nobody appeared. Otherwise, we loved Il Guelfo Bianco, and, if we ever get lucky enough to return to Florence, we will stay there again!

We stayed for 4 nights in early July and the hotel was great. 10 min walk from the train station, 10 min walk from Duomo it was great for sightseeing.
The staff were very helpful, and did all our restaurant bookings for us which was really helpful!
Breakfast is scrummy, and the patio outside is great if you fancy a cold beer after walking around the city
Would highly recommend this hotel.
Thanks!

The hotel couldn't have been more ideally located -- a block from David, 4 blocks from Duomo, and a quick, leisurely walk to everything else (Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, and the great shops of Via de Tournaboni). It's got a funky style -- old and new at the same time, and the rooms are spacious and comforable. The staff was quick and helpful with our requests, from making restaurant reservations to having an iron brought to our room. The breakfast was plentiful and had great variety -- and the morning staff at the restaurant was very nice and quick to give us anything we wanted.
It's all the comforts of being in a hotel, but it feels like you're staying in someone's apartment. Don't expect the atmosphere of a chain hotel or a luxury boutique property -- it's more down-to-earth and homey for sure!
