“Fabulous, atmospheric hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2011

We were pleasantly surprised with the excellent central location of this very charming historical hotel. Great atmosphere and beautiful decor with a lovely collection of art. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, changing one of the three rooms we had booked as requested. Breakfast was the best we had (out of the 4 hotels we stayed at over our 11 days in Italy) with delicious bruschetta and perfect hot chocolate! We'll definitely stay here again and recommend to our friends!
Excellent food in all the restaurants we went to in Florence. A trip to Siena is a must if you have the time-we loved our stay!

We thought this was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our entire trip. Pros: Our room (336) looked out into a courtyard, very quiet @ night; large spacious room and bathroom with tub, lovely breakfast spread, very helpful staff--helped my husband get an appointment with a doctor; close to the Accademia, Medici Chapels, Mercato Centrale, Duomo and Baptistry and only about a 10-15 minute walk to Pointe Vecchio. Cons: bed a little hard and squeaky, air conditioning could have been a little cooler, really soft pillows and a late wake up call our first morning (which was remedied for future mornings). All in all I couldn't think there'd be a much nicer, centrally located place to stay.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a triple room which was spacious and well appointed. It had airconditioning which was a must in the 40 degree heatwave we encountered. The bathroom was large and clean. The staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful from the booking stage until we left. The breakfasts were great. A buffet of simple yet tasty food. We liked the indivdual nature of this hotel with its colourful walls and the art which hangs everywhere. The hotel was just down the block from the Duomo and the staff prebooked our tickets to the Accademia and the Uffizi. Would definitely recommend this place !

We chose this hotel for its excellent central location & for its beautiful spacious room which easily accomodated a family of four (including 2 teenagers). In most other hotels we would have needed 2 rooms which would have been much more expensive. The friendly staff was very helpful in making restaurant suggestions & reservations, and also helping us plan an excursion out of Florence. The breakfast was outstanding. The hotel has a very good restaurant using fresh local produce associated with it. We would definitely stay here again.

Very central and an easy walk to all the museums and other attractions. The room was lovely, very comfortable, plus there was BBC on the TV. The staff members - from cheerful and helpful antonella and her colleagues at reception to the very capable and amiable team at breakfast and everyone else you happen to bump into - were a delight and ever so pleasant and ready to answer your queries. The breakfast was delicious and very fresh , especially the fab bruschetta and fruit. I hope to be able to return one day. Take care, all you lovely people, and thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

We stayed here because of previous reviews as well as the fact that friends of ours had stayed here. It exceeded our expectations. The room was big and well thought out. Lots of convenient details like electrical outlets level with each bedside table top (for cell phone charging, etc.) There was an adorable vanity in the room that doubled as a little bar complete with wine glasses. The bathroom was large & had all the amenities. Everyone we had contact with was extremely friendly and emails were responded to with lightening speed. Nothing was an issue - leaving our luggage, having museum tickets reserved at the last minute, and even checking in early was done with a smile.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on the 4/8/11, what an amazing hotel, it's a 15th century building converted into a hotel, the character of this hotel is incredible everywhere you turn there is either an antique piece of furniture or piece of art, our room was incredible, high wooden original painted ceilings, a hung tapestry and amazing furniture. Staff where very helpful and breakfast was lovely with great fresh produce. Location was close to everything, about 5 mins to the Duomo and even closer to the statue of David, but most importantly around the corner from the leather market. A tip the small restaurant attached to the hotel, has the most amazing food it all comes from a farm associated with the owners of the hotel, the pasta dish with the potatoes and green beans just delicious!! Wonderful stay but be prepared to spend lots of money on leather but bargain, bargain!! Would defianetly be back!!
