“Very nice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2014

Thanks so much for your warmhearted welcome during my stay. Although located in the central of old city of Florence, the price was cheap and the hotel was very comfortable. Friendly staffs were also really nice : )

We were treated very poorly by the rude staff, particularly the night manager who argued with us when we asked for his assistance in confirming a day excursion. The breakfast was poor, nothing hot except the coffee. Again the breakfast lady was also rude and unpleasant. The room advertised it was sound proof - it was definitely not! We were woken up each night to loud drunk guests returning to their rooms and in the outside court yards hosting parties. Also another disappointment was the wi-fi – it did not work in the rooms (again as advertised), only had a reasonable signal in the lobby.
My strong recommendation is to skip this hotel as there are many others in this location and it’s not as advertised.

Room Tip: choose another hotel....

I chose this hotel because I wanted to be near the train station. For me, the location was great. I had a single room, which was a bit monastic but certainly adequate. The bathroom was modern, and even had a little balcony (big enough to put a chair on). Breakfast was a typical breakfast buffet, with plenty to choose from to start the day. My only complaint about the Boccaccio was that the noise from the street was extreme, with music and people shouting and talking very loudly until well past midnight. Shutting the windows did not make a bit of difference. It was in fact the noisiest hotel room I have ever stayed in. I felt like my bed was on the sidewalk. I'm sure the Boccaccio must have some quiet rooms -- if you stay here, make sure you get one.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room ... Or stay elsewhere.

My mother and I stayed at Hotel Boccaccio in April 2013. We got an awesome internet special (around 70 euros per night) and compared to what we got for around this price in other cities it was EXCELLENT.
Professional friendly 24hr reception staff, nice breakfast, clean tastefully decorated room and an ELEVATOR. Now that last mention may sound strange but if you have ever had to lug your backpack and your mothers quite large suitcase up 3-6 flights of creaky wooden or polished marble stairs then you will see the attraction. Seriously - check the small print when booking cheaper hotels and B&Bs in Italy and France. Many don't have elevators so maybe choose ground floor if you have the choice!
All in all we really enjoyed Florence (even with a bit of rain) and Hotel Boccaccio made the stay even better.

This hotel is well placed to be able to visit the beautiful city of Florence on foot and it is close to the station/main bus terminal. It was however quite average in most respects leaving us to question value for money.

It's was clean and nice. The rooms had beautiful murals on the walls. The breakfast was pastries and yogurt with coffee and juices. However the location was very tricky. You are near the square. Another reason why this was an average hotel was because the rooms were very dark.
