Great hotel just in the center of city. Great interior design on historic building. Helpful front desk. Breakfast is not only about meals; but also impressive hall where makes breakfast delightful.

The good news is this is ithe oldest hotel in Firenze according to the management, so has lots of character, but was completely refurbished and reopened a year ago so has all modern facilites and comforts.
Very helpful and friendly staff, both at the front desk and in the dining room.
The location is excellent, nothing in the old centre of Florence is much more than a 5 or 10 minute walk away.
Would go back.
Well seasoned of Dublin.

This hotel is within a few minutes walk to the Uffizi and the Piazza di Signoria LLocated on a virtually traffic-free side-street, but very close to shops and eating spots. It is stylish, and contemporary in feel. Our room was donemostly in whites, welcome in the darker winter months. The staff, including the front desk is most helpful and patient. On the same trip, our other Italian hotels were not always so kind.

Their nearby dining suggestions were on the mark, they assisted with computer difficulties, and generally were cheerful. Though it's a part ofa chain, personnel behaved like they owned the place.

Breakfast is beautifully presented, but could be a little heartier to our tastes.

If you can afford the price - not so expensive - and the stairs - +50 - you can't miss the Monalda Tower at Portarossa - a 14th Century tower with a unique 3 floors suite with a dream 360º degrees view over Florence.

The hotel is a charm, tottally renovated and the staff is great! I recommend it for a romantic travel.

I've been to Florence many times. Love the city. I have finally found a hotel in the center (right where you need to be), spacious, clean, lovely with great service. The service team is very helpful and the atmosphere is great. If you are going to Florence; Porta Rossa is your hotel... search no more.

We chose this hotel based on the great reviews and also the photos of the rooms- I have to say that both the reviews and the rooms more than lived up to their expectations! We initially booked a superior room and was offered an upgrade to the junior suite for an additional 30 euros and got a lovely room with the biggest shower we have seen!

Rooms and hotel have been refurbished really well and the location is very central. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing I can think of to add is that some of the rooms may be noisy at night as there are a lot of sounds coming from the streets so it may be good to ask for a room that doesn't face into the main streets if they are available.
Overall we would definitely choose this hotel again to stay in Florence!

The Porta Rossa was a beautiful gem in a beautiful city. Price was a bit higher than some hotels but well worth it. The guest rooms were new and modern and hotel common areas were restored to their original look. The bathrooms were elegant and spacious. The staff was helpful and attentive. The breakfast was great, a large selection of food and quality. Great coffee and fesh juices, meats and pastries. The resturuants the staff recommended were fabulous, especially the one down the street from the back of the hotel. Location was great, easy walking to almost every sight.
