“Very welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

This is a lovely hotel within easy walking distance of both the railway station (10 mins) and the main city area (15 mins). It is very clean and comfortable with free bottled water available in the mini bar in the room as well as complementary tea, coffee and cakes set out in the lounge in the afternoon. Breakfast is good and varied and the staff are extremely helpful and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location, easy to get to the main sights. Nice quiet hotel, helpful staff. Breakfast was good with lovely coffee. Comfortable beds. Easy walking distance from main train station although narrow sidewalks make it a little tricky, but can be do

dear guests
thanks for your comment. the labergo as you know has been recently renovated, and we have tried to adapt to spaces condfortevoli. the city of Florence is adjusting, sidewalks, narrow streets still are normal in a city like ours, but with a bit 'of time of course, you adapt, it also comes to love her for that. thanks again for your choice, we hope to see you soon with us

Our first night we would have rated the hotel a 4 star only because the room we had was small with 2 single beds in a very narrow room. It had a lovely terrace, but it is November and we would not use. The room would have been great for a family with children as it had an adjoining room for the adults. The next day they moved us to a wonderful room with a large bed. A very Lovely room. The rooms are spotless, newly renovated. The staff here is superb. Extremely helpful and so nice. Gave us directions to see the city, recommended restaurants that were fabulous, had pizza delivered to our room on our last night as we were very tired and we needed some relaxing time with our feet up. They made us feel very welcome and bent over backwards to assist us with anything we needed, the true sign of a 5 star hotel.

Breakfast was great. Lots of choices of pastry, rolls, eggs, yogurt, meats, cheeses, fresh fruit and wonderful coffee. One great thing they did extra was for 5 euro you could purchase a bag lunch of several sandwiches and water to take with you on your day out which feed my husband and myself. What a great way to enjoy Florence sitting by the statue of David in the Piazza del Signoria people watching having lunch.

The hotel is very close to everything. Just a few minute walk to the Duomo, Uffizi gallery and the Accademia. It is about a 15 minute walk from the train station. We would highly recommend this hotel to our friends and family, great place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the lower floors, they were quieter.

We stayed here for three nights in October and I would reiterate jillbeebee's review title comment of "5 star facilities in a 3 star hotel". The hotel has been totally refurbished relatively recently in a very tasteful manner and it was a real pleasure to stay there. Treat the staff with respect and you will find them extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

It was a dark and stormy night (no kidding), and our arrival in Florence had been delayed for 12 hours. We were bedraggled and cold and, then, we were greeted by Mauro! who made us feel so so welcome. Before we asked, he asked us whether we wanted him to make reservations for us in a neighborhood restaurant that he knew would be very crowded - the food was great, inexpensive and a short walk away. We jumped on the chance and had one of our best meals of the whole trip. What a relief. As you have read from others, the hotel was perfect for our needs - comfortable bed, excellent shower, and HUGE bathtub. My husband thought the reading lights were too dim, and he wanted another shelf for his toiletries. I'm a little claustrophobic so used the stairs rather than the small elevator. It was a great way to walk off our fabulous dinner. The following morning Lorenzo created a very clear map of a great 2.5 hour walking tour of Florence that exactly fit out needs. Would stay here again in a minute.

We stayed at Rapallo hotel in Florence for 3 nights in October and had a wonderful time. I chose this hotel initially based on its proximity to the railway station and we also prefer to be in a quieter location away from city centre. On our arrival in Florence we had a shortish walk from the station (approximately 10 minutes pulling a heavy suitcase) to the hotel. The hotel is situated on quite a busy road but we found our room was on the top floor to the rear and was extremely quiet. On checking in we were immediately offered refreshments with tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits available throughout the day in the breakfast room (hint, there isn't usually any cold milk to put in our 'english style cup of tea ' but staff are very friendly and will readily go in search of some if requested!) Besides being very quiet and peaceful our room was also beautifully clean, well decorated and had all the facilities you could ask for which included as standard air conditioning, TV, fridge, tea/coffee. plenty of storage space, walk in wardrobe and safe. There were four complimentary bottles of water in the fridge which were replaced every day free of charge which was a pleasant surprise. The ensuite bathroom was superb, sparklingly clean and well fitted out and we slept very soundly in an extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast was varied and plentiful from 7-10, lots to choose from including cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruiit, ham and cheeses, croissants, pastries, cake, toast and if that's not enough there's a variety of omlettes available for a small additional charge. The walk to the sights of Florence took us anything from between 15/30 mins depending on the route that we chose, (not always the most direct one). The staff without exception were very polite and approachable, nothing was too much trouble and they were always willing to help and offer suggestions and advice if needed. There is free Wifi access in the hotel and there is also a computer available for the use of guests (with a new printer!)
We wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Rapallo Hotel to anyone considering a trip to Florence, can't believe it's only rated as a 3* hotel, it's one of the best we've stayed in in Italy and we shall certainly return if we visit Florence again,

I came back in Florence for Halloween week end and naturally I chose the Hotel Rapallo where stay.
All Staff is kind and polite as usually.
For evening, they organized an excellent wine tasting with all tuscan specialties... like chees, and fruits, and ham .... I spent a great time and a I met new persons.
Thanks to Hotel Rapallo for hospitality. I suggest everybody to visit it. I will come back soon!!!
