“So convenient and pretty good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

Location is fantastic being next to Ponte Vecchio. Hotel is rather tired but there are no major problems. The biggest problem is if you are driving the cost of the hotel parking area is extremely expensive and you have to be careful of the congestion charge area in the centre of Florence.
In spite of this we really enjoyed this hotel and would certainly recommend it.

This hotel couldn't be better placed to see all the major sights in Florence. The staff are very helpful and efficient. Some of the rooms on the top floor (5th) are under the restaurant so are a little noisy from around 7am when breakfast is being prepared, no problem if you are an early riser otherwise pretty quiet for a city centre hotel! Restaurant has a good view of the roof tops with the Duomo and the Uffizi in the distance.
Breakfast a little limited if you like hot food, okay if you like pastries. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Fourth floor downwards if you are not an early riser.

This hotel isn't "bad" but here is where I think it falls short (and this is my princess opinion only): the wifi is very slow, only one of us could barley use it at a time, and you have to log in each time you leave the room/hotel. The beds are foam mattresses - a bit harder, hotter, might do a number on your back if you are at all effected by that sort of thing. The bedding was thin - sheet and the bed cover, no duvet, a "army" wool blanket is supplied as backup. Pillows not great either. The bathroom was on the small size and the shower was definitely one do those where you need to do the one hand "hold the shower head" dances so you can get water all over. The breakfast was so-so, there are better for sure but it covered your usual buffet options albeit less selection: pastries, fruit, toast, cereal, meat, cheese, coffee and juice machines, yogurt. For positives: hands down a great location. You are across the street from the ponte vecchio which means walking distance to the uffizi and all the others - the David is 10-20 mins away depending on your pace. $10 taxi ride from the train station.

Dear Guest

I am sorry to read that your stay with us was not fully enjoyable, we pay a lot of attention to our guest's comments as they are valuable to improve our standards.
All areas are covered with wi-fi, it could be that in peak hours when there is a high usage of it the connection is a bit slow, we will report this problem to our providers in order to improve this service.
Our Mattresses are top standards, our supplier is one of the leading producers in Italy, I understand that some people could feel that they are hard, but they are tested for a good relaxing sleep with highs standards of quality, besideds we changed all the mattresses no longer than 4 months ago.
I am sorry that you did not like our linen as well, of course it is personal taste and all I can do is assure you that even the linen are high quality.
So I am sorry if we did not meet your expectations, but to be honest with you and with other future guests I do not agree with the title of your comment. We do have different typology of rooms, some have a spectacular view, romantic and cosy ideal for a honeymoon atmpsphere, and how not to mention our Panoramic Suite on the top floor with private large terrace and witha 360° view of Florence?. Of course it is a little more expensive than the other typolgies but there is one honeymoon in a lifetime and I think is Worth it!

Since I did not have the pleasure to meet you personally let me wish you all the best for your honeymoon and a happy and joyfull life, hoping to welcome you again here in Florence

Regards

S. B.

I just returned from Italy & stayed 6 nights in Florence. The Hotel Pitti Palace at Ponte Vecchio was great! A perfect location to start each day from. Great breakfast every morning with a fantastic view, the room was nice, clean & quiet every night. Never a problem with the WiFi either. Fantastic! I would gladly stay here again. :-)

My family and I have been going back to Florence for years and was back for the third time this year alone. We just love Florence. Pitti Palace is the hotel that we frequent the most. We've also stayed at other hotels and they were okay also. It's certainly not the best but it's at the center and very near the Ponte Vechio bridge. We have tried different rooms here and some were small while others were good. I remembered getting a room that has a key card instead of the ordinary key and that was new and large. The staff at front desk as usual were very hospitable and this helps a lot in making a vacation nice. It's my 4th stay at this hotel and won't be the last.

Room Tip: Get a room with key card.

We stayed here the third week in November, 2014. We found the staff helpful and friendly, and our room was very comfortable and large for a midtown European hotel. It was noisy, but with the windows shut, it didn't keep either of us awake! There was no tea or coffee making facility in the room, but being forewarned, we brought a travel kettle. A great place to stay, and you can't be better situated for the beauty of Florence. We would definitely stay again. Eating breakfast with a glorious view of Florence was a treat!

Room Tip: higher up is quieter, but it is in the centre of town, so expect some noise.

Really excellent location close to everything: sightseeing, museums, restaurants, shopping, etc. Good hotel, clean and friendly service. The only minus comes from the street noise (single glazed windows...).
