“Convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

Central location, convenient and reasonably priced for Florence. Room is good and bed is comfortable. Had some problems with room service and housekeeping but both were immediately corrected by the stuff and management. Customer service is what counts the most in any business. Recommended.

Centrally located a block from the main square. Stayed three nights which was perfect. Hotel does not have a restaurant, but who cares? The staff gave perfect recommendations. Rooms are quiet and comforatable. It's a perfect hotel to get out and see the city.

Would stay there again and recommend highly.

This hotel is very comfortable indeed. Our room, a 'standard' one, had very pleasant traditional decor with a very comfortable bed. It couldn't be more central, being just 2 minutes walk to the Uffizi, so ideally placed. It's a very quiet hotel surrounded by ancient palaces, museums and within easy reach of restaurants. Having read that it's hard to find good afforadable hotels in Florence, this one was just £300 sterling for 4 nights, including breakfast - so a real bargain. The staff were always helpful, efficient and pleasant, giving the impression of a very well run hotel.

The breakfast room is large and airy with a good range of food. Waiters were very alert to our needs and in clearing tables. All in all a very smooth and pleasant stay. I would say this is the best value city centre hotel I've reviewed so far on this site.

Stayed 6 nights (16 - 22 Sept). From the outside there is nothing to suggest what awaits you inside - classic Florence. The staff on reception were excellent - spoke fluent English (most welcome when like us you are linguistically challenged) and only too happy to help and provide advice.

The room (415) was spotless and well furnished - also larger than we had expected - not sure whether it was the 'Classic' we had booked or one size up. Booked through BA Holidays in one of their sales - tremendous value! Considering the location (on a busy corner) the room was very quiet.

The breakfast [ball]room is fantastic; the waiting staff courteously glide in and out. Breakfast is very good and sets you up for a hard day's gallery, church and museum viewing. There was even sparkling wine with which to make your own Buck's Fizz. Didn't try the restaurant in the evening as there was so much choice in Florence.

The hotel is perfectly positioned rarely any more than a 10 minute walk away from any of the major sights.

In short, was perfect for us.

This hotel has the best location in Florence. The location puts you in heart of the city, centre of great restaurants and right beside the Uffizzi. Ask the concierge for tickets to any attraction and don't miss the rooftop deck and hot tub with a wonderful view of the city!! The lobby is a great place to sit and have a drink or snacks. Wonderful hospitality!

Room Tip: If you are travelling as a familty there are several two-bedroom 'rooms' that work very well...

We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon and didn't want to leave... We actually considered cancelling our visit to Venice (though we are now very happy we didn't as Venice was amazing!)

The hotel is in a great location near the Uffizi and ten minutes walk to most attractions.

The hotel is definitely faded grandeur (just like beautiful Florence) but has been updated with some great touches and feels really arty and funky. We stayed in a junior suite which was really spacious and well laid out, there were many original features in the room which really added to the experience.

The staff were very friendly and helpful even arranging us express tickets for the Uffizi and Acadamia. The breakfast wasn't amazing though lots of options and they even offer champagne!

We would love to come back to bernini palace and Florence... Maybe next time we wouldn't leave!

From the outside, this hotel looks a little severe - grey stone with little in the way of decoration or embellishment. Its also on a busy corner, with (as you would expect so near major tourists attractions) lots of fellow travellers walking from the Uffizi to Santa Croce. Inside the door, its more peaceful, with a well staffed reception, lobby and bar. Rooms in the main hotel are traditional in style, to reflect the history of the building. Rooms in a rear extension (on the first floor) are "tuscan" in design. The breakfast room is in a large double height room, with excellent friendly staff, at hand to bring tea and coffee. Lots of fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, pastries, rolls, salad, juices, cereals and yoghurts - as well as eggs and bacon. The toaster may take a day or two to comprehend ...!

The hotel was spotless, although at the time of our visit, we noticed problems with the sewer drains outside the hotel.

We stayed on the tuscan floor - some days fruit and drinks were provided in the special lobby, and the rooms are decorated with a rustic feel. Rooms either look out onto the street, or on internal small light-wells. The former gives you more of a view, but with the street noise. Our first floor room was a little dim, even on sunny days - and the air conditioning is very efficient.

Free wifi and a complementary bottle of water each day are good touches. There is also access to a rooftop hot tub, and ground floor restaurant.

September is a busy month for Firenze - and the price of the hotel reflects the high demand - although longer stays attract a 40% discount.
