“Outstanding!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2010 via mobile

The hotel is centrally located just blocks from the Doumo or the Ponte Vecchio. You can't beat the location.

The hotel is exceptionally appointed, clean, and well air conditioned. Our room had a clear view of Brunellesci's dome. The staff was kind, friendly and attentive.

The hotel has qualities of a 5 star for the price of a 4 star. If you are going to splurge at all on your vacation you will find no better return for your investment.

The hotel was very well located, on the street between the Duomo and the Uffizi and the room was small, but clean and beautifully decorated, as was the breakfast room. The staff were fine, but not as friendly as I experienced elsewhere and all the extras were expensive. They wanted to charge so much for internet access that I went to a internet cafe instead. Also the water and soda in the mini bar were more expensive than at other places. But the thing that was the most annoying was that the location made the room very loud, and we were on the fourth floor. We got a good deal and it was certainly a higher end place, but it would be nice if that did not mean they did not have to treat us well.

This 4 star hotel was very nice and has the best location in Florence! It's right on a pedestrian street that is 2 minutes from the Duomo, 5 minutes from the Accademmia (David), and 2 minutes to the Piazza Signoria and the Uffizzi. (However, the walk to the train station was a long one, when carting luggage.) Our room was huge although the bathroom was small. My sister in another room also had a huge room, although my other sister had a small room. Guess it just depends on what's available when you check in. I was sick when we arrived and spent some time in the bed and thoroughly enjoyed the efficient AC. Worked very well. No screens on the windows, but I have yet to see those in Italy. We didn't need to leave the windows open since the AC worked so well. Our room was around back and we heard no noise from outside. The breakfast was very large and included eggs, bacon, cheeses, coffee, juice, cereal, fruit, etc. By far, the best thing was the location and our room being huge and cool was a pleasant bonus.

This hotel could not have been in a more perfect location. You were in the middle of everything. We had 2 rooms, side by side. Of the 4 cities we stayed in, this was the smallest room. Also, there was only one outlet to recharge camera batteries. I was actually surprised to get on here post trip and see the great staff comments. We had none of that. We were there 3 nights and had dealings with the front desk each and every day. Each and every time approached the front desk, even at check-in and check-out, we felt that we were bothering them. It was a different person every time, so we can definitely say it wasn't just one person. When we were leaving, there was a woman in tears at her treatment. It was the the only time I filled out the comment card and just said they need an overhaul of their concierge staff. I do not know if there are hotels in the area that are the same price and that the rooms are the same size. Assuming there are not, I would still stay here again as the rooms were clean and convenient but I would not expect help from the front desk. One annoyance is their keys. they are these keys with a huge tassle. Very inconvenient to carry but I gather they want you to turn them in to the desk whenever you leave. If we received a nicer friendlier reception when doing this we might have been more inclined to do this but seeing that it was always an annoyance for them, we carried them around with us.

The location could not be better, walk to all attractions easily, shops and good restaurants all close . The staff at reception, breakfast room, and the porter coundn't be more helpful if they tried. Room was a good size very comfy and quiet, breakfast was excellent and Florence superb

Ideal location on pedestrian packed street, within easy walking distance of all major attractions. We had two rooms, were similar but one seemed to have a remodeled bathroom and the other not. They were extremely large rooms for Europe, high ceilings, nicely furnished. I particularly appreciated the soundproof windows, so that I could have a good night's rest even when our room overlooked such a noisy, crowded street. Breakfasts were fine, by the second day the waitresses knew our coffee preferences and got them for us as soon as we walked in. Nice touch.

Like another reviewer noted, the location is ideal for mid-day breaks from touring.

The only down to this hotel is the outrageous charges for wi fi. We came from a three star in Venice that had free wi-fi, as did our three star in Rome. I think they need to get with the trend, no one likes to feel gouged or taken advantage of.

Although we didn't realize it at first, location did end up to be wonderful. Centrally located and convenient to everything. Staff was helpful and courteous, although no special requests were made. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was very good, but bar and sitting area were almost nonexistent. Overall, I would recommend this hotel
