“Lovely museum out of the center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

The collection is fantastic, it appeals to everyone but even kids will like the armor and decorative arts kept here. There is a park outside to run around and a cute cafe at the back. The museum only has guided tours, you can't go at your own pace, and there is too much to see in an hour!

“Armours and Napoleon's corronation costume”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

This museum hosts a huge collection of armours. A sword having belonged to Tippu Sultan, King of Mysore and one of Joachim Murat. Some furniture of the Napoleonic first Empire period as frescos. An entire room is dedicated to Napoleon.(Currently closed for restoration), the highlight is Napoleons costume worn for his corronation as King of Italy.

“Great collection of armour ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012 via mobile

Worth the walk to find it. You are given a tour of European and Islamic armour collected by an English aristocrat. Japanese armour was not available when we went. My brother enjoyed trying on the armour in one of the rooms.

“Great collection”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

We went to this museum because it was on our Florence card. However pleasantly surprised by the collection - the layout and the friendiness of the staff (the airconditioning was good too). e also pretty much had it to ourselves which after the buzz and crowds of some of the other attractions was very welcome

“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

Undoubtedly the most interesting museum for armour and costume. The Japanese collection must be the largest outside Japan
