Huge.... This place is massive. We spent at least 3 hours there walking the extensive rooms filled with so much art. It was amazing to see.

“Pitti Palace”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

A must for all visitors to Florence. Go early, it gets very crowded but its beauty and opulence will delight your eyes and senses. And the walk to the Palace will afford you a series of shops of all kinds to either window shop or actually shop. Once inside, you will be transported back in time to see how the nobility lived. Pleasant journey.

“Talk About Glitz.”

See it. The costume exhibit was well worth it. Just check out the ceilings if nothing else. Again, exhausting, but worth it.

“Don't miss the Gardens”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

This was one of my favorite places in a 2-week trip to Italy. The gardens are not to be missed! Be sure to plan plenty of time to stroll around and discover all the hidden paths, statues and fountains. There is much more to see inside as well. I did the combined ticket for entry into the Costume Gallery, gardens, Porcelain Museum, Gallery of Modern Art & Palatine Gallery, etc. Cost was 11,50 for access into every area, but 18,00 with the La Bella Italia exhibit. It is still a great value because the ticket is good for 3 days so you can divide the visit up if you prefer. I ended up staying for around 4 hrs. This is also a good site to combine with a visit to San Miniato al Monte where you can sit in the church and listen to the monks sing Gregorian Chants, both sites are across the river and you can walk across the Ponte Vecchio on your way to either site. I walked from my hotel across the Ponte Vecchio and to the Pitti Palace in the morning, then stopped for lunch and by the time I arrived at the church and walked around the cemetery it was perfect timing to hear the monks.
