“Tudor style in there somewhere!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

When we first arrived in Florence and headed for all the architecture that we have never seen anything like in Australia. It really just took our breath away. The buildings are so big and so old that is beggars belief and they are so magnificent. We just walked around for hours with our mouth’s hanging open and soaking up the ambiance and the history.

If you come to Italy please make sure that you spend time in Florence it is well worth it. It is a place of magic.

“Spectacular”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

Although the outside was completely covered in scaffolding, the inside was magnificent. In a city filled with splendors, this truly stood out. FYI, the actual "Gates of Paradise" doors are now in the museum and were incredible.

“Beautiful interior.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014

The Baptistery is the oldest building in the square and was covered in scaffolding during our trip so looked less impressive than the inside but the interior is stunning. Take time to appreciate the mosaics in the domed ceiling and the different patterns of the floor and as it seems to be less busy than some of the other attractions you should not feel pressurized to rush your visit. Enjoy the magnificence!

“True magnificence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2014

The doors are a masterpiece and the interior mosaics are awe inspiring. There weren't many people there when we visited, even though some other attractions had long lines.
