“Excellent indeed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

I can only reinforce all the great reviews that go before! This is a lovely small hotel, close enough to the centro to be accessible, and the staff are just wonderful (especially Vittoria, the receptionist, who helped out with all manner of requests with efficiency and a smile). Little frescoes on the walls, lovely big room with a balcony, happy hour with nibbles....what's not to like!! We'll be back for sure!

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room

We stayed here in Oct 2012 for 3 nights. Arrived in Termini station and took taxi 10 mins to arrive to hotel with no difficulty. From arrival to departure Hotel David has charmed us with its lovely interior (resembles and feels more like a large guesthouse or B&B rather than a hotel). The rooms were large & spacious and the bathroom was decorated with cute tiles and good pressure shower. There was a lounge outside with a fireplace/comfy couches and computers to check e-mails / read books for leisure so you don't feel like you need to be cooped up in the room. Also a mini kitchennete next to the lounge so you can help yourself to coffee or wine should you feel inclined while relaxing reading a book!
Extra perks you get staying at Hotel David: complimentary aperitif in the lounge - lovely way to end your day. The breakfast was served on the first level, cute and charming room overlooking Florence. Free wifi. Hosts were friendly and helpful and made us feel special, on our first day they surprised us with a cake in our room with a handwritten note to thank us for staying with them.
Good 15-20 min walk from city centre but it was nice and quiet and the walk along the river was nice.
Highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Florence!

We were recently traveling through Italy & stayed in Florenece Italy at the Hotel David.
It is located in the heart of the city, walking distance to many of the sites & destination
locations is wonderful. They serve a great breakfast, rooms are lovely & guest service was excellent!
We would highly recommend Hotel David for anyone traveling to Italy for their first visit
or return visit....
It was very romantic to sit out on the open patio off our room, sip tea or wine & converse.
I highly recommend Hotel David!

Room Tip: Rooms on the back of the Street are quieter. Our room had 2 patios, one sunny am, other sunny pm...

Hotel David is a wonderful little gem off the beaten path in Florence. Yes, you can take the bus or enjoy a great walk up the river to get to the sites and it is well worth the small extra effort. The staff is incredibly helpful. The wine and appetizers were great fun and provided an opportunity to meet other guests. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of choices. Our room was also very nice. The staff gave us a couple of restaurant suggestions which ended up being some of our favorites of our trip and again, they were just a short walk away from the downtown area. We would absolutely stay here again.

I read the reviews on Trip Advisor and I was glad that I booked this hotel. All of the comments were accurate, a lovely hotel which is very reasonably priced, situated on the outskirts of the city. The reception staff are very friendly and made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble for them, service was excellent. We were given room 25 which was very large, 2 singles moved together for my husband and I and a sofabed in the corner for our adult son. The bathroom was also large and everything was very clean. Our towels and toiletries were replaced everyday and the lovely ladies tidied our room and made the bed each morning. There is a fridge in the room with a complementary one off bar (drinks and nibbles) but there are no tea & coffee facilities here. But it wouldn't really have mattered any way as I am sure that if we had asked for coffee, it would have been served to us in the lounge downstairs. Each night there was complementary drinks and nibbles which was very welcome after a very long day in the Centre, before heading out for a late dinner. We didn't use the internet or phone but we know you can have use of these for a set amount of time. The laundry in the basement was really the icing on the cake for us having travelled from Venice and needing to wash some clothes for our next destination. Cost is 6 Euros a wash (pay at reception) and there was even a fold out clothes dryer so that our laundry could dry overnight. There was a nice selection for breakfast, coffee/selection of teas, crispy prosciutto with eggs, fresh fruit, cakes, croissants, juice, yoghurt. Although we were told that the walk into the City would take 10 minutes along the river, it actually takes 20 minutes. The plus is that if you want a taxi you will find these just outside the hotel to the right. Be aware that if you ask the hotel to call a taxi for you because you have luggage, our experience is that the cost will be higher (we paid 18 Euros on a Sunday morning to the bus station whereas this should only have been about 11. Perhaps there is a surcharge for Sundays?). Overall a fantastic experience.

Dear Guest,
I'm very happy to see that you had a good experience in Florence and at the David too. A couple of additional infos might be useful for a correct use of the services: laundry services are available from 9 to 9 we close at night but you can hang your laundry in the laundry room; there is no coffee or tea facilities in our rooms but there is an self service bar at the lobby area opened h24; taxi ride on Sunday is more expensive and there is an additional charge if you have luggage, if you take the taxi at the stand, the ride is euro 1,96 less expensive!
My best,
Gabriele Cecioni

This hotel, has just got it all right. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you are treated very well. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable and the staff are extremely helpful in every way possible.
The free mini bar, and the happy hour are a lovely special touch. The hotel feels very homely with magazines to read and comfortable chairs to sit on.
We stayed here for six nights and didn't want to leave, one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had, if not the best. They do everything so well.

Dear Guest,
This is a good opportunity to discover that travelers are discovering that it's better to stay in one place close to everything then loosing a lot of time moving from town to town. Intact from Florence you can easily go to Roma, Venezia, Miano as a day trip but at the end of your day you enjoy to come back to a place you like. Ont top you get a better deal because of long term booking! Think about this next time you decide to come back to Italy!
My best,
Gabriele Cecioni

We are two couples from Australia and stayed at this Hotel for 3 nights mid-August 2012. To say that we enjoyed our stay is an understatement. We absolutely loved this Hotel. The location, away from the centre of Florence was perfect with an easy walk to the main piazza. Walking back to the Hotel along the river takes less than 20 minutes and takes you from the hectic bustle of the centre of Florence to what feels like a home in the Tuscan countryside. If you do not want to walk there is a bus service nearby. The happy hour in the courtyard each evening with free wine and snacks was a great time to sit and reflect on the day’s activities. Heading off after happy hour to dinner at a restaurant nearby made for perfect days. The small cafe/bar next door was a great place for a quick bite and a beer when we were around at lunchtime.

The rooms were immaculate and comfortable with everything you needed. Our stay included breakfast, which was plentiful and good. Free wifi, free use of computer, free parking if needed, free minibar and most importantly, excellent staff and service makes this Hotel a great place to stay. We are recommending it to our friends at home.
