“OK for one night, but would not stay for a week”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014 via mobile

I had a small room without even a desk to work at. Difficult to find an electric plug to charge phone. No restaurant at hotel nor in the vicinity.
Breakfast was OK and staff very friendly. Bathroom small but very nice. Bed comfortable. I was fine for one night but next time I go to Florence for a week, I will stay elsewhere.

When we first got to the hotel we were greeted by a nice woman who told us we were upgraded to a business suite across the street. Notice I said upgraded, not asked to be in a suite.

So we walked across the street and entered a decent room. Big and the bathroom was a good size. The shower was small, but I am over this after three weeks in Europe.

The hotel is also a short distance to downtown taking the 22 or 23. And you can catch the 22 back-- the 23 goes a little further from the hotel on the way back. Also, two stops to the train station on either.

Anyways, after the first day the internet was sketchy. It kept kicking is off. Now normally this wouldn't really bother me, but this is your business executive suites. You can't expect business people to stay with sketchy internet.

The breakfast was great. Such variety to choose from and we never had to worry about eating lunch til late. Also, it was a long range for breakfast so you didn't have to really wake up extra early or stick around if up early for food.

One nice gentleman at the desk even printed a leaning tower of pisa tickets for the next day bc their printer available for guests did not work.

What bothered me was when we checked out. When we checked in we confirmed witht the desk girl it was 9 euros a person bc of the ridiculous 3 euro a day tax. Not blaming the hotel, just ridiculous in general for a country to do that. She said yes.

The man at the desk in the morning said 24-- 4 per night. Then when we said no he said ok 32. What? So we explained three nights at three a person is 18. He went and pulled fine print that said four a night for executive suite. I was livid. I know it was only 6 more euros total, but let's remember we didn't ask for the executive suite they handed it to us. I did not like the way the man handled it or treated us.

Minus him and the spotty internet-- which was better in the regular building so you would be fine there-- this was a good hotel for our florence stay!

Even though we wish it was closer to the downtown, we all liked it much. The parking place is a bit tough but if you take care of parking on the street you are fine. The price was reasonable. Rooms were packed with furniture compared to its size but design was pretty good. Food was great as well (breakfast). Best of all, I like the managers there on duty.

this hotel is out of florence about 15 minutes, but a great place to stay. our room was like an efficiency, with refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, and we could get cooking utensils if we wanted. the room itself, was spacious and very comfortable. it was across the street from the main hotel in another building. the staff was always helpful and very friendly. the breakfast every morning was plentiful and fresh. the bus ride into downtown florence on bus 22, was very easy to navigate, both going and back.

The good-
We stayed at this hotel through a Groupon voucher. Nice, clean and comfortable- for the most part. We stayed on the top floor, with stairs leading down into our room, which was odd. The size of the room was great, huge bathroom. The staff where polite and friendly. Location was fine- about a 20 minute walk to the Duomo. Breakfast was included. Basic but enough to get the day started.
The bad- The first night, we noticed the room was warm, but we could deal. The second night however was so uncomfortable that I had to sleep with a wet cloth on me. I woke up at 1.30am absolutely sweltering. There are 2 high windows in the room, but to sleep without glaring lights you need to close the heavy curtains, which blocks the air. Rang down to reception and asked if any ventilation or air con could be turned on. There wasn't. Before I knew it, he was up at our room, showing me another room that we could swap to. At 1.30 am. Not cool. Declined his offer, as it was the middle of the night, and didn't want the fuss of swapping rooms. Plus the other room was no cooler. So, back to bed we went, this time with the curtains open. And a few thousand mosquitos. My husband woke up to little blood staines on the sheets were he killed a few through the night. Nice! Not much sleep was had!

Overall, don't stay in room 311. Can't speak for the other rooms, hopefully they are better and provide a more comfortable stay. Consider insect repellant?

Room Tip: Any thing but 311!

So we stayed here almost for a week ! and travelled to Siena and Milan , and came back.
Clean business hotel, decent complimentary breakfast , and yes free internet worked , did an important meeting using the same The hotel is located in residential neighbourhood so sleep was great.Counter staff spoke good English (Yes it was good) , and was co-operative. The hotel is slightly old but room and toilets were clean. There are old television sets in the room , which played only 1 English News channel .This is not more than 1-2 kilometres from the city centre. And it was fun walking that distance in February weather. There is a super store Esselunga at walking distance, and a good Italian restaurant Jacopino nearby. Will stay again.
