“Excellent Hotel, excellent staff and excellent location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

This hotel is near perfect.  I stayed 12 nights and hated to leave. The location is within walking distance from the historic area and very close to the  Plaza San Marco  and the Accedemia.   Without exception, staff is friendly, accommodating and helpful.  The included buffet breakfast is excellent and generous with lot  of protein available. Serve yourself coffee is available and you can ask for a cappuccino or expresso.

I had room 302 which was nice-size with a large bathroom  including a tub. The room had a few internal steps.  The view from the room was of rooftops.  There is a wide variety of sizes and configurations of rooms, so ask to see a few rooms before you accept one.

The cable TV had hundreds of channels and the Wi-fi (free) was excellent

The public rooms are stunning and you have the feeling of a private club. There is good artwork everywhere as well we art and history books to consult.    The “honor bar” area is comfortable and a nice place to relax after visiting museums all day.

There was never a problem with hot water or water pressure,

I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The building is a former palazzo, and rooms are all different sizes and configurations. Take a lo...

Emotional, charming, romantic, different. We spent a long weekend with some friends. We booked through Transeurope Citytrips and their selection was perfect.
The Hotel is so charming and cosy.
We loved the emotional decoration of the entire house and the special cares we received during our stay from the brilliant staff. We felt like in our florentine home.
Thank you for our wonderful experience.

Room Tip: We loved our room next to the roof garden

Me and my husband enjoyed a lovely stay at Cellai Hotel, This was our best stay during our december trip in Tuscany. All the sitting rooms and the breakfast room had lovely Christmas decorations and Christmas songs that created a very special atmosphere. The staff is nice and rooms are clean and cosy. Lovely music background and rich breakfast. Will come again.

I love boutique hotels with charm. I can genuinely say this is one of the most charming hotels I've ever stayed in. The location is perfect, set off enough that there is not a lot of foot traffic but 5-15 minutes by foot from everywhere you'd want to go. The staff was exceptionally polite. I took a walk and explored each of the winding halls - beautiful. We drank a bottle of wine from the honesty bar on the rooftop one evening...it was so nice! I would stay here again for sure!

I have been at the hotel before in family trip and it was a great experience.

I got back in business.
The hotel rooms, service, breakfast and locations were all fabulous.

I want to thank all the staff that made my stay such an enjoyable memory.

I will come back and stay at Cellai for sure

Stayed three nights and Hotel Cellai in Sept., 2014. Wonderful place, had a unique feel to it - large city quality and country comfortable. The initial room they had me in was smallish and had a single bed, a little cramped. I asked them if anything larger was available and they gave me two more keys to other rooms to have a look. I chose one just up a half flight of stairs from the lobby. Very comfortable, seemed a little larger than a typical European room. Comfortable bed, nice little desk, small closet, safe for valuables, clean bathroom with good-sized shower with MANY mirrors, even in the shower (weak shower water flow though), spotty wifi. Fantastic rooftop sitting area with a great view of the town, all the way to the Duomo. Excellent, helpful staff, always found time to grab me some ice from the bar area. Quiet street that was a 15-20 min. walk to the Duomo. Very good breakfast - sliced meats, quiche, cheeses, breads, eggs, cereal, yogurt, fruits, and interesting little "hot dogs", not much on the sausage/bacon front. MANY little sitting rooms where people can just rest and read if they want. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: I had a room just up the stairs on the left, great little room, and quiet even though it was near th...

This is billed as a "boutique" hotel. It just seemed like it was crammed with paintings and bric-a-brac to me. My first night's room was unacceptable: unbelievably tiny, shabby paint, a window down a shaft and unreachable besides. The climate control, including any fan, was non-functional and the room was stifling.

The next room--a single--was quite small but not as bad. Yes, it's clean. Yes, it's friendly, but it's not really close to anything but the Academia. The breakfast room was tiny and cramped. Worst of all: the coffee was self-serve from a machine and cold. No waitstaff as in subsequent and more substantial breakfasts at other hotels. I've stayed in better 3 star hotels (this one is four).

Pros: a roof-garden, honor bars, outdoor breakfast patio.

Cons: location, bathrooms could be the size of a closet and without windows, some microscopic sized rooms. The internet did not work.

Room Tip: Ask to see your room before committing to anything.

Dear Guest,

thank you for your time and your opinion.

The paintings and the objects displayed allover the hotel and in the bedrooms are valuable antiques and our staff will always be pleased to explain the value, the period and the style of each single item. Hotels usually do not display such valuable objects and this makes our place so special and apreciated by our guests.

We serve our buffet candlelight breakfast in the breakfast room but we also serve breakfast in all the other lovely sitting rooms. Guests that like a more intimate setting can choose the fireplace sitting room, the piano sitting room the Library or the Garibaldi sitting room. There is a large choice of charming places where to have breakfast. We do not only serve american coffee but also hot chocolate, lovely expressly made cappuccino, a large selection of teas and herbs.

We notice that on your review there is no mention to our home made cakes, our croissants selection, the rich and various buffet, the hot plates, the vegetable cakes and the regional cheese also served at breakfast. Thank you for your apreciation of our afternoon complimentary tea and coffee and bisquits buffet, our honesty bar and our flowered patio with view. We really hope to see you at Cellai Hotel in a near future.

Best regards

Maria Cristina Bianchi
