“very nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2014

First the positives: the location is fantastic (but everything is so compact that that doesn't really distinguish it from many other hotels across the city), the rooms are clean, the staff is very helpful, and the breakfast is great. The only reason I didn't give it 4 stars is because the room furnishings are a little shabby and the renovation (it's a very old building obviously) is a bit spotty - reasonably well done in places, pretty sloppy in others. Overall, I was very satisfied and I'll stay there again if I ever get back.

The hotel is in an ideal location, not on a major street so not a lot of traffic and fairly quiet. They saw that is was my husband's birthday and sent a complimentary bottle of wine to our room which was a pleasant surprise. The room decor is dated bit it goes along with the history of the hotel, which makes it very charming. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Florence

As the hotel literature states your in a good location being 5 to 10 minutes walk from everywhere.

However the room we had on the top floor was poor.
Bad air conditioning , in need of decoration (horrible carpet on walls) , windows with views to nowhere.

Requested a twin bed room but given a double (although the bed was very big).

I assume the other rooms may be of a different standard so book carefully.

Room Tip: Check room is air conditioned and ask to see photos of room . And don't accept a room in need...

My daughter and I stayed here for 5 nights in February and were very please with our choice. The roomy was quite spacious and clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We both enjoyed the breakfasts as there was a variety of healthy and substantial food. This hotel is in a great location being between the train station and the Duomo and an easy walk everywhere we went. I would stay here again.

Perfect place to stay for night. The place had a lot of old times charm to it. The toilet flush button needed some repair but the shower had great water pressure and temperature. We stayed on the 1st floor towards the street. It wasn't as noisy as we thought it would be from some of the reviews. As a plus it had a patio on that floor (next to the breakfast room). The room was clean upon arrival. The staff was professional and friendly. The building could use some repair and restoration - but they seemed to be working on it slowly and quietly while we there.

As a newly wed couple we decided to go to Italy as it's all romance and love. We were not disappointed!!

We had a magnificent room overviewing the main street and enjoyed every second we spent. The employees there were very helpful and also guided us about what to see and do outside the hotel. Worth every penny!

Room Tip: Ask about the size of the bathrooms as the one we had was particularly small.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is near places to shop, buy some goods and walk to the city center. We stayed at an antique palace, with the high ceilings and big windows. Besides the hotel being a historic one, things like the decor and floors were dated. The room did not have much luminosity, but it was big. The hotel and the room were really cleaned. The service was excellent and the staff was really nice.
