“First time visitors to Florence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

Hotel was excellent. Clean. Efficient. Quiet. Comfortable. Extremely well-located. This was our first visit to Florence and to Italy and we were not disappointed. The city is beautiful and the hotel is very well situated for tourists...pretty much everything to see was within walking distance. We'd go back in a minute.

On arrival to the hotel they did ask for a €400 credit card deposit which we felt was a bit naughty especially as we hadnt been advised re this. However, that aside this hotel couldn't be in a better location and the room was lovely. A bottle of bubbly was there on arrival as it was our honeymoon. Staff are attentive and the room staff do an excellent job.
Free wifi that's a bit intermittent but better than some in Italy.
Breakfasts are fantastic choice of cereal, fresh fruit, fresh juices, cooked breakfast and croissants etc. watch out for the tourist tax thing for two people at four nights ours was €32

Perfect location, you can walk everywhere from it. Great food and service. Beautiful decor.
It is a group of different buildings attached, one is a brick tower that supposedly in the old times had been a women's jail( or at least that's what one of the guides told us).
We could see the Duomo from our room!

Room Tip: We were celebrating our anniversary and got an upgraded room

This was our first stop for our Tuscan honeymoon.
Before we got there, the staff put a huge effort into advising us and pre-booking attractions / museums / restaurants. They were brilliant throughout.
Fantastic location, bang in the middle of all major sites, yet remains a hidden scene of tranquility and peace, in the centre of all Florence's amazing atmosphere.
Food, wine, setting and staff were great at the restaurant and we loved siting out in the courtyard until late at night.

A superlative experience - we were visiting Florence for the first time for 4 days to attend a family wedding, and to our delight we were upgraded to a large suite overlooking the Duomo with fantastic views. But probably the best thing about the hotel was the people - everyone was so friendly, and all the concierge staff , particularly Sergio & Paulus, went out of their way to help us & our family with our numerous questions & complicated travel arrangements. We highly recommend this lovely hotel, and can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Higher floors probably best.

The whole family travelled to Florence the first week of July . The objective was to get the kids in touch with culture and fresh-up the adults knowledge about Italian renaissance. Well, thats what I say to everybody who asks. Me....I went to Florence to indulge myself in culinary delights! And not to forget those marvellous Tuscan wines.
We chose the Brunelleschi for its location (a stone-throw from the Duomo) and the Hotel itself. It is built around a Byzantine tower that used to be a prison. Absolutely fantastic. The rooms are romantic, but updated with all modern equipment. The boys had a generous two twin bedroom with view on the court and the parents had a junior suite with a very large bathroom.
The one thing we want to point out is the friendly professionality of the entire hotel crew. Always at your disposal for anything you might require. Lots of good hints to do , to eat out etc. and always a smile on their faces.
Very attentive service from breakfast to lunch and during dinner. By the way, their court restaurant is just the place to be for a light Tuscan fare und a cool drink. I'd return their anytime.

The hotel was in a great location, only a few steps from the Duomo and easy walking distance from all the major attractions. The hotel itself had a lovely feel to it. It had very nice decor and was very clean. The bedrooms were a little small, we had booked a double and a twin for our 2 teenagers but there was no space between the twins so was a little too cosy! The standard of the rooms and bathroom facilities made up for the lack of space. A bonus was that the rooms did have tea/coffee making facilities. The staff were always pleasant and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
