“We had a very nice stay at the hotel. A friendly staff and a beautiful room.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2011

It's a very beautiful hotel at the city centre. It's located near to the Duomo and a lot of nice historical places in Firenze. You don't have to walk a long distance to see something and it's also near all nice shops. The staff is very friendly, breakfast was very good, you don't hear any rumours from the street. It's a wonderfull hotel to stay at when you are in Firenze!

We stayed at Hotel Brunelleschi for 3 nights in May 2011. The hotel is in an excellent position, being just around the corner from the Duomo and right in the centre of fabulous shopping and fabulous restaurants, but is remarkably quiet, in fact we slept with our windows open each night and loved being woken by the bells from the Duomo. The hotel is undergoing renovation or extensions so is a little higglypiggly and we could not find stairs to go up and down to our room so had to take the lifts, which were a little nervewracking. Our room was twin bedded which was disappointing as we had asked for kingsize, and the room was small but spotlessly clean, very modern and gorgeous linen and duvets. The bathroom was small and the shower was exceptionally small but again all the fittings were modern and superbly clean. You had to pay some exorbitant amount for wifi, something that really irritates me. The reception area is very dowdy so I am guessing that this may be up for renovation in the near future, and the reception staff seemed to be too busy to give great service. The breakfast was good, and the breakfast staff were excellent. We would stay again because of the modernity, cleanliness and location, so easy to walk to all the sights in Florence.

A really charming hotel in an excellent location. The reception staff were courteous and always helpful. The room was furnished to a very high standard and had a lovely big bathroom. The rooms where breakfast was served were light and airy and the food selection offered was very good. The works in some public areas such as the bar and staircases were not yet finished but one can envisage how beautiful it will all be when completed. If visiting Florence again this holel would be my number one choice.

We had a good time in a central location. Room was small but adequate. Bathroom very modern and obviously recently renovated. Breakfast was good. Our first night was a sunday and was raining++. Unfortunately the restaurant is not open on a sunday night. We made do with a snack at the Bar` from a very limited menu. A negative was that the Wi-Fi didn't work in our bedroom. We were assured that there were no problems in other rooms. I have heard that one before!

The Hotel Brunelleschi was a winner...clean, modern rooms (but small, per typical European standards) a few short blocks from the Duomo, and around the corner from delicious gelato. Part of the hotel is a stone tower that once was a women's prison, so tour groups congregate outside the hotel entrance to see it as part of their Florence walking tour. Rest-assured, once inside, there is no "prison vibe" whatsoever! The rooms were modern and clean, with fresh white duvets, and the bathrooms were clean, granite and glass; modern (not huge, but well-designed) spaces.
The included breakfast buffet was tasty and substantial, though not as huge an assortment (particularly with respect to hot foods) as some other European hotels offer. The only downside to the hotel was that we had to take two separate elevators and a staircase to reach our rooms, so this would definitely have been an issue for a person with a disability or with children in strollers.
The front desk personnel was fine, though not so nice as to warrant a special mention for interpersonal skills. There was no business center or free computer station, so we had to pay about $20 for 24 hours of wi-fi to connect our own laptop.
Best of all was the location...we were truly in the center of Florence. A good value, and the perfect mix of nice, modern, clean accommodations with top-notch location.
One other note: We are a family of five, and always request adjacent rooms. The two rooms we were given were not adjacent, but one was down the hall from the other, though on the same floor.

This hotel is refurbishing so visitors have all the comforts you expect, while retaining the charm of this beautiful building. It was like staying in a castle! Food and drinks are available at the hotel, but it is located only one block away from the square and plenty of history and excitement. The staff was wonderful and I would love to visit it again. Part of the fun was watching our driver navagate the historical and narrow cobblestone streets!

Since this was a business trip and arranged by others, some of the information about details were not available to me for this review, but I would go here on my own.

We stayed at the Brunelleschi at the start of June. The location of the hotel is excellent with immediate access to the shops, restaurants and sites of Florence. Even though the hotel is so central it is still nice and quiet and the sound proofing in the rooms is excellent.

The hotel is still undergoing some updating and the communal areas should live up to the excellent standard of the bedrooms when completed.

Our room was very nice and stylish and the beds were so comfortable.

We also ate in the restaurant and this was also excellent, delicious food and attentive service.

We would definitely recommend this to others.

Room Tip: We booked with Citalia and received an upgrade.
