“Pretty nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2010

This hotel is good, though not amazing. Hotels in this area are all expensive and this was no exception.
Location was ok - close to main station and to historic centre, though Florence is small enough that nothing is too far away. We found the location pretty convenient though.
Rooms are small but nicely done, modern and clean. Bathroom was nice and shower pressure good. Has safe, mini-bar and everything you'd expect to find.
Breakfast was average - not many hot options, but good coffee! Staff at reception and breakfast were pleasant.
No free internet anywhere in the hotel, which I would expect for a 4* hotel at this price. You can buy wifi for 10euro an hour or 20 euro a day which I think is far too expensive.

We had 3 rooms in this hotel which has its own free parking too. Excellent location to walk to all the sights. In the evening there are quite a few people hanging about as there are a number of internet and phone locations here. It can seem intimidating but it really is not. We were a group of 2 adults, 2 teenagers and an OAP and were never bothered by anyone.
The rooms were good, quiet and the rate we had was good as there was a 4 for the price of 3 nights offer. The car parking was very handy - essential to consider as i didnt see any public car parks about.
Breakfast was great too.
Only down side was internet wifi was not free - but this may be the norm for Italy.

We travelled by train to and from Florence and was looking for a hotel that wasn't too far from the train station. This hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. Next time I may look for something a little closer to the centre of Florence, but this hotel was great value for money and very convenient to the train for us.

Alora, my friends and I were part of a Gate1 Travel tour (I hightly recommend them especially our guide Vanni Martelli) from September 21-28. We were celebrating our 50th birthday. We stayed in three different hotels and the Grand Hotel
Adriatico in Florence was the best. Not being an extensive traveler, I had reservations (no pun intended) about staying in a Best Western in Italy.

Service: We were able to check in with no problems. The front desk staff spoke excellent english. One of my friends misplaced her keycard and when she went to the front desk to get a replacement it was done in a matter of minutes without hassle. Breakfast was served buffet style each morning and the staff was quick in providing you with a good morning, a cup of their excellent coffee and warm milk (loved it).

Rooms: The rooms were modern and well appointed. The mattress and pillows were a little too firm for some in our group, but I had no problem. The bathrooms were fine, with modern amenities including a handheld shower and bidet.

Location: The hotel is withing walking distance of the Arno River and the Ponte Vecchio. There is a coffee shop and laundrey next door. There are plenty of restuarants within walking distance and I highly recommend the Fritto Misto at the Ostaria dei Centopoveri.

What I did not like: like a lot of hotels there was not enough lighting in bathroom or bedroom, but that is a minor thing.

We had a 2 night stay in this hotel whilst visiting Florence. We found the hotel well situated for walking into the centre. There was an enclosed, safe car park for our car (the main reason for choosing the hotel) as we had no intention of driving in the city which was very welcome. The room was spotless and more luxurious than what we are used to, but it was worth the extra we paid. The staff were exceedingly helpful. The breakfast was excellent. I really have nothing negative to say about the Adriatico!

We wanted a 4 star hotel easy 10minute walk to city centre, and the Adriatico provided us with such a location, convenient to walk into centre along the river side or via shops/restaurants. The location is excellent for main train service should one wish to visit other cities, and the main bus/tram services are also close by.
The hotel was quiet, clean, with extremely friendly and helpful staff available at all times to assist. The only thing missing from the room was perhaps the facility to make a tea/coffee.
The breakfast for all tastes with a good choice of serials ,fruit, cold meats, cheeses, pastries, along with some warm options.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation to return, as the hotel and location met all our needs.

The hotel was clean and the majority of the staff were polite, just a few occasions when you felt like you were putting a couple of them out. We enjoyed the breakfasts in the morning and thought the hotel in general was good value for money.
The only thing that let it down slightly was the location - there were a few groups hanging around the street in the evenings which made us feel a little uncomfortable when coming back to the hotel, although saying that we didnt have any trouble. I wouldnt like to stay there if I was on my own but I think a couple or more would be fine.
